Staying at the Contemporary - Magic Kingdom view has been on my bucket list. Thinking of doing 2 nights at the beginning of our upcoming trip. Do you feel the monorails shake the room? How about viewing the fireworks from your balcony. I would request a room a bit higher up. Opinions of those that have stayed there.

Thanks.

My CR TPV experiences have been on the 12th floor, and yes, I think you can feel the monorail if you pay really close attention. I don't find it bothersome though. The noise from Chef Mickey's bothers me more than any monorail vibration.

The fireworks views from a TPV room are great. The show music is available on the TV (or at least it has been in my prior CR stays, most recent being 9/2017). Some pics attached from the 12th floor, roughly the middle of the building.

Happy to answer any questions!

My family had our "bucket list" trip in 2010, and stayed on the 11th floor. The view is top notch, and the FIREWORKS WERE AWESOME! I woke up, at 5:30 am, just to admire the early morning balcony view with my coffee.

Our room was directly adjacent to the elevators, in the center of the floor, and noise/vibration from monorail was non existent. There is some ambient noise from the atrium, that you may notice near the door. But it was not to the point of being close to an issue.

That trip was far and away, our most magical trip, to date. GO FOR IT! You won't regret it.

We have stayed at the Contemporary. I still feel like it is one of the most quiet hotels I have ever stayed in.

We were on the 7th floor. I never felt the monorail. The fireworks view was so awesome from our balcony that we never stayed at the MK to watch them.

We were just there on the night of the 30th, specifically to watch the early NYE fireworks from our room.
We requested, and got, an odd numbered room, from the end nearest BLT, so opposite CM. I've been over CM before and yes we heard the noise but not in the room, only in the hall, it never bothered us. They don't operate when we were sleeping anyway.
This trip we wanted the end near BLT so we were nearest the fireworks. Odd number so you can stay in bed to watch fireworks.
We got 6th floor, room 4247, so just 2 floors up from the monorail. We didn't feel it at all. This was the lowest we've been by far too.
Here's some pics from our room (hopefully this works, I tried to make them public)
