I just saw this on DVC News and didn't see it had been posted here yet, so hope it's ok to bring this over. Formatting is weird, so just look at KT as the last in the row.

<<<<As part of its legal filings, Disney Vacation Development is required to disclose the maximum number of points that a DVC member would have to spend in order to book a single night at a given resort. DVCNews has obtained a copy of the Maximum Reallocation Chart which includes the "Kingdom Tower Resort."

DVC uses a point system to determine the cost for a single night in any of its resort rooms. The cost will vary depending season and night of the week. However, DVC could conceivably reoganize the points such that every single night of the year costs the same amount to members. That cost is revealed in the Maximum Reallocation Chart.

Following are the Maximum Reallocation amounts for all of the Walt Disney World-based DVC resorts:

OKW BWV (Standard) BWV (Preferred) VWL BCV SSR AKV KTV
Studio 15 15 18 18 18 16 15 16
One Bedroom 30 30 36 36 36 32 36 39
Two Bedroom 40 40 46 46 46 41 45 54
Grand Villa 65 n/a 100 n/a n/a 90 99 96

Based upon the data above, it appears that the average One Bedroom villa at the Contemporary's Kingdom Tower Villas will cost 8% more than BWV(p), VWL, BCV. A Two Bedroom villa will be at least 17% higher than all other resorts.

Note that the absence of separate room categories for Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas (Value, Standard, Savanna, Concierge) suggests that the figure presented is an aggregate of all rooms that are scheduled to be declared into inventory. It is likely that the Kingdom Tower Villas will also have multiple views available, perhaps Magic Kingdom View, Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Therefore, even though the KTV Two Bedroom is listed as being 17% higher than the same room at the Beach Club Villas, a room with a Magic Kingdom view may, in fact, have a nightly cost much greater than 17% above BCV.

The complete points charts, including DVC seasons and weeknight vs. weekend stay values should be released as sales officially begin.

AAAAAHHHH!!! Thanks for posting this- I am all a-twitter today over this and this was just what I was waiting for!!!!:goodvibes
Where is that "I worship you" smiley??? Found it!
:worship: You are the best!!!

By the way- I noticed recently a DIS poster named JGarcia- and just assumed it was an homage to the great Jerry G:hippie: - now I wonder if it is this writer? Anybody know?

This doesn't take the point raising 'view' into account. That is going to be a bundle.

then the studio at KTR is way out of line. It should be more.

First, as stated in another thread, the point values are kind of an average. It is what a room would cost if there were no seasons and no view adjustments. That being said, what we don't know is how many of each type of room have what kind of views. Maybe a majority of the studios have less desirable views. Maybe more of the 1BR and dedicated 2BR have the preferred views. At this point we have litlte to go on and are just speculating, which of course is more fun than knowing what it will be anyway.

Bingo!

It could end up being that 1/4 of the resort's studios (or less) have a Magic Kingdom view. I would expect those MK view rooms to still be one or two points HIGER than BCV/BWV, etc. per night. But the more plentiful Bay Lake / SSL would be a little less and drag that average down.

We spent a lot of time discussing (debating) how the AKV charts would fall before they were released. Most were surprised that AKV has room classes below the BCV/BWV level, and that data illustrates that even the AKV average is below many of the older resorts. Now we know that will not be the case for the Contemporary--at least in the one and two bedroom categories.

But this information is very much a starting point to the discussion, not an ending point.

That wouldn't bother me. Having seen the two views, I prefer the Bay Lake view. I'm an EWP fan and I just love long nature vistas, especially over water. If it ends up costing me less and I still get to enjoy the location, even better.

Now I just have to debate whether we add on enough for an EOY 2bedroom stay for my sibs or just the annual 3 day studio stay for us and one lucky other family member/friend.

One thing is for sure, with the proposed point limits in seems like CRV/KTR won't be out of this world. And if my guide is right and they "listened to members" and implemented the multiple categories in a resort, then maybe there can be a bargain in the works. It's all in the fine print.

If you look at the aerial sketch and mapquest of that area, there could even be a "standard view" from the part of the C that faces the South Wing area. There's still hope!

I think the worst "views" would be in the interior north & south wings facing each other. Other than that any view that not a MK view seems pretty equal. I would think they may divide the views by floor. Obviously a MK view from the first couple of floors is not equal to one on the 15th.

They could, but there's not much precedent for doing it. After 16 years OKW just got a second category added. SSR is all one category regardless of view. VWL and BCV are all one category.

From the floorplan I don't think there are any ground-floor villas on the MK side--it's all offices or shops. If I'm right, that puts the first MK-view rooms on the second floor. And if there's any chance that you can see the top of Space Mountain or the tip of the castle, I suspect DVC will call it MK view and charge higher points. More points per night means more points to sell! $$$$

I'm looking at my map of WDW and I can't remember exactly where KTV are (which side of the CR?) It seems like most of the views would be of Bay Lake? I wonder if the Magic Kingdom views will also be parking lot views like at CR.

While I do agree with this, I kind of equate it to a lot of the "Ocean View" Hotels I have experienced. Many have rooms looking straight out over the ocean, but many of the "side" rooms on the hotels you look to the left (or right) to see the ocean and its not too bad-and many dont have balconies to help further. Not sure if these will have balconies but you still should be able to view Bay Lake fairly decently, as well as looking down at the pool area will be OK-but yea straight forward will be kind of crummy.

Our family's beach condo is in a unit facing the other building of the complex. On the 9th floor perpendicular to the ocean and bay (Ocean City, MD is a very narrow peninsula surrounded by water). If we look straight out we see the other building and the pool deck below. But if we angle our view just a bit east we see ocean and west we see bay. (Makes it possible to see the sun rise and set over water.)

The view is actually decent. Based on that, I don't see there being many bad views here. In fact, the Bay Lake view will probably be better than MK view.

Only bad view I can think of might be the units on the outside of the C facing the hotel tower. But then isn't that set back a ways? So you'll really just be seeing the hotel pools and the lake.

no - 5 stories is the highest.

don't know how tall the one in Hawaii or Cal will be.

I don't think the CA will be any taller than the existing Grand Californian which is what..6? 7? The last time we were there we were on the 5th floor, but I don't remember how many more were above us.

I think so as well. That seems like the weakest view to me. But like you say it may be back enough to once again, just look left or right at Bay Lake, GF, monorail-who nows it may be fine as well.

I'd pay anthing for a KT view of Cinderella's castle at night!!! Well not anything, but I'd be willing to fork out alot of points
