Contemporary DVC - Orlando Sentinel 1/14/08

...current DVC members would get first chance to buy CRV. We hope anyway.

Don't worry yourself thinking that is even necessary.

While demand may be very high for the Contemporary, it's not like we're talking about days or weeks. It will still be months or years before all of the units are sold.

The Beach Club is arguably the most in-demand DVC property to date, and it took over a year to sell about 200 units. The Contemporary will be at least 50% larger. Current member or not, there will be plenty of time to buy Contemporary points (if/when it happens. :goodvibes )

Just talked with my guide, thanked her for the fast add on, and told her to add me to the list "IF" we get a Contemporary DVC. She said she hopes something is said soon, as to just what it is, her list is growing.

Any article etc. get me excited thinking that CRV may really be a reality!!!!! My DD would be so over the moon as CR is her FAVORITE resort!

Nothing new in that article that I haven't heard 100 times around here. Just hoping it will be DVC....

money i had in the bank has been spent;) announcement should be anytime soon lol

will have to check into the financing thru DVC, still 50 points min?

yes but the BCV is to the side - easily missed unless you were staying at the BC.

the CRV (or whatever) is more in your face - it is going up next to the MK.

there were several people who did not buy - based on it not being on the monrail.

all the DVC resorts so far have allowed members at least a couple of months to buy it - before going to the general public.

when it goes to the general public there is a price increase.

there should be a price increase next year - just because DVC increases the prices every year or so.

hope it is in 2010 - can better afford it then!

otherwise have to sale some OKW.:scared:

So pretty much more of the same. Sep '09 looks very similar to AKV's schedule. Maybe there will be a similar chronology for announcement and sales: announce in Winter, presales to members in early Spring, general sale with price increase in early Summer and first bookings in Fall.

At this point I'm looking for a 2009 pre-sale date (for members). But I want to see those point charts first. We have enough SSR to keep us happy. CRV is just a nice 3-day add-on. Depending on price and point costs we'll just that 3-day a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom unit.

I figure my biggest problem would be getting a HA room at anything less than 11 mos. Being within walking distance of MK and the monorail, I think a lot of HA folks will be chosing CRV first.

Dis'ers congratulate yourselves !!

It appears that the sleuths working for the Orlando Sentinel have uncovered a 'scoop' that has circulated on these boards for quite some time. They could clearly take a few investigative lessons from some of the posters here !

Though it is encouraging to see it in print....the information has all been passed around here before.

Here's hoping this is a ramping of PR for some sort of announcement !

I guess with the SEC filing it must be happening!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Now to figure out how much and when the sales shall begin. :rotfl:

I would believe the key word in the article is in the title, likely

And to think that people doubted the authenticity of the design pics that I posted here some time ago......To those of you that doubted me  (the closest emoticon I could find to a raspberry)

Is BCV the most in-demand or the most wait-listed becuase of its size?

How do BWV and BCV in-demand stats look like when compared side-by-side? I read members wait listing for both resorts, but since BWV is almost twice the size of BCV, is it possible for more requests at BWV?

Just pondering what is the actual number of requests per resort. We assume that BCV is the highest, becuase it fills up quickly with its 208 rooms. Comparing BCV 208/282 to BWV 383/532, the BWV can hold almost twice as many people before wait listing. But both resorts are typically booked solid with wait lists at both resorts.

So is it a precieved most in-demand becuse of its size or is it actually less then BWV or equal?
