This december 1-7 is my 5th annual trip to wdw with my kids (9,6 &5). We booked contemporary because my sister in law wanted to stay there and it seemed like an easy choice with kids. Hers are 2, 4 & 7 at trip time. It's my first time at CR (por fort wilderness cabins asm before). Is it a good deluxe choice? I want to be sure it will be worth the extra $$. Thanks!

We are trying the CR for the first time in December so I can't speak from an experienced stay, but with the ages of all of the kids and with the CR being so close to MK (within walking distance), I think it's a great choice. Having stayed at the Poly and GF (with the Poly being our favorite), any of the monorail resorts are great if you will be spending a lot of time at MK. Plus being on the monorail is so convenient to a variety of dining options at the Poly and GF. I'm sure you'll have a great trip :wizard:.

I stayed at the CR for the first time last year and I very much enjoyed it! The walk to MK definitely can't be beat. The quick service is good and you don't have to go outside to get to it (if you're staying in the tower), which is nice. The tower also offers some really great views. Have a great trip!

Now I am thinking about trying to get dvc point at by lake tower because it is so reasonable, but it looks like only key west is available. Decisions decisions....2k difference In price :/

First of all, no Deluxe Hotel at WDW is really a "deluxe" hotel, so it's hard to tell you whether or not the price is worth it for you. (It is worth it for us.) However, with young kids, the monorail access is fantastic. It's so easy to push strollers on and off the monorail.

Love CR! Now I like BLT better, but I'll stay at CR any day. Love walking to the MK and having the monorail just steps away.

love blt too!

the only problem that I had with CR were the crazy sinks. they are way to shallow and since they are almost flat they don't drain as well as you would hope.

just make sure you are with your kids the few first times they need to use the things - otherwise you could easily get a wet floor in the bathroom.

think CR went a little to far on the modern with these silly things.

CR has the biggest hotel rooms on site - 2 queen beds and a sofa which is really a twin bed. plenty of room. Now loved the wing a little better than the tower.

the wing is where the standard and garden rooms are located. Only the first floor has a patio - 2nd and 3rd don't.

now in the tower part - bay lake view or theme park view - all have balconies.
will be in BLT for about the same time - won't stay as long as you are.

I really like the CR.
Love the rooms, and convenience to MK and even Epcot by monorail.

My DD 15 loves it, too.

The theming is not to everyone's taste. My DH does not care for it- he prefers nature, trees, woods. POR is his favorite resort. CR is much more "urban" feeling- you see more concrete. It doesn't bother me.

Comparing the resorts you have stayed in already: Did you miss the trees of POR and FW cabins when you stayed at ASM? (Not saying the ASM and CR are that similar- just that they both have less "green space".)

Do you enjoy Tomorrowland and Future world as much as Frontierland and Animal KIngdom?

If so, the CR may be just right for you.

Love CR, close to MK, Monorail, Recently renovated QS, it screams all things Disney. Also, great viewing of fireworks on the 4th floor terrace or atop the California Grill (I would check on this first because I know it’s under renovations). You will love it!

Hi Autumn!

You will love the CR , it's so convenient. The view is great and you can enjoy all the other hotels on the monorail. You can also take a boat over to the WL. Have a great time!
