We have been thinking about the Contemporary for our next Disney vacation. We've never had a monorail resort before.

We just naturally assumed that the Contemporary would be the cheapest of the three. However, after looking at some information website, I wonder if this is true?

If we stay at the Contemp, we definetly want to stay in the tower section. However, It seems that the Grand Floridian's standard rooms are only $4 more than the Contemporary's tower rooms?

Does this sound right? If so, would you recommend the Tower Room or the Grand Floridian standard room?

Well, it depends. The "standard" room at Grand Floridian is a not-so-great view and lowest room accomadations. Plus, it may not be in a very convenient location, though it is hard to tell. The Contemporary tower rooms are good, you know what you are gonna get, and cannot be in a far walking distance to anything. But, the cheapest of the three monorail hotels is by far the Polynesian. The Polynesian has bigger rooms than both in someplaces, because it was built earlier and remained the sizes, though Contemporary was first, it has slightly smaller room sizes. Average Polynesian cost is $240 and probably is lower depending on the time you are going. The rooms are a different style, but not necessary worse than the GF. Plus location to the main building is the same or may be even better. If you are looking to save money but stay in a monorail hotel, Polynesian is the way to go. If you have ruled that out, than it is up to.
Good Luck!

Hope that gives you some help!

Hi,
We stayed in the wings of the CR 2 years ago and loved it! It's a wonderful resort. I've never stayed at GF, so I can't compare the two.

I'd say, go by whatever theming you like best. CR, people either "love" it or "hate" it regarding their theming. We thought it was cute. Not something I'd ever put in my home, but cute for a WDW vacation. ;) We especially loved the bathroom set-up.

Where ever you stay, you'll have a great trip!

was for the contemporary tower - mainly because you have been wanting to stay there. We've stayed at GF and Contemporary, although we were in the North Wing vs. the tower. The contemporary is very magical and nostalgic. Loved walking to MK. The GF is, of course, quite nice. But, I'm thinking a tower room with a MK view would be heavenly.

Are these rates you're showing rack rates? I'm thinking you could get a discount somehow and not pay rack rate.

The view of the castle is wonderful! You have to request the Magic Kingdom view. I have always gotten the view I requested. Must be the magic. You will have fun either way.
Good luck in making a decision, it's hard I know.

We have stayed at Cont in the tower and the wings. Last year we stayed at GF thinking it would be the ultimate. We were very dissappointed mainly because we had held it up too high. We had a standard room with a garden view and that is what we had. It is very quiet, it seems like not many families go down to the pool. The slide pool is small and closed at 8:00. We enjoy the family activity at Cont better. But also to be honest I like the wing rooms better!
