Contact solution question for flight

I know that I do not have to put my contact solution in my "3-1-1" bag of liquids, but what do I do with it? Can I just put it in a seperate bag with my extra contacts and perscription medication and then tell them I have it at the security check? Do I need anything from my eye doctor saying that I have contacts? It states on my driver license that I have corrective lenses.

I'm a first time flyer and am already nervous, so knowing the security rules helps the nerves! :)

Thanks in advance!

I would like the answer to this, too... and does our contact solution have to be in the container it came in? I keep mine in a clear plastic mini-container. The travel-size contact solution containers are hard to find unless you want to pay the $10-15 for the whole brand-name "starter kit".

Just put it in a large clear zip lock bag. When you go through, tell them it is medical liquid. Take it out just like you do with the 311 bag.

The best place to get the travel size ones is to ask your eye care office for the sample starter kits. They usually give them away, small bottle of solution and usually a lens case. We order contacts a couple times a year and ask for a couple on each trip in to pick up our orders. This gives us enough to get through our vacations. This is usually provided to them for free, so they usually have no issue giving you what you ask for.

I always put my solutions, extra lenses and a case in a seprate ziplock and take both that zip lock and my 311 bag out of my carry on and put it in the bin to go through x ray I have never been questioned.

Thanks for the tips everyone! Last time I flew I didn't even bring them, but now that we are flying in February in New England, I know ANYTHING can happen, lol, so I want to be prepared... :)
