My brand Aeosept has suspended manufacturing supposedly because the FDA found contamination at some of the factories. That was the news I was given from a pharmacy tech at a local drug store. She said, "Let me guess, you're looking for Aeosept." I said, "Yes, how did you know?" And she said, "Everyone is looking for it! And there isn't any anywhere!!" The stuff literally was on the shelf one day and gone the next! I love this product! I miss it like crazy! So I've tried Opti something or another. It didn't work as well for me. I really like the little disc thing. It works like a charm.

I got a sample of Clear Care. Haven't found that on the shelves either. It worked a lot better but the residue/film is still on the lens. And with pollen at full swing it just isn't worth the hassle right now. I'm just using my glasses for awhile, until my eye exam the first of next month.

Now Bausch and Lomb is having problems with their lens cleaning solution! So what do you use and have you had any problems getting it?!

I have never heard of the Aeosept stuff. I use the Optifree or what ever it is in the green bottle. That works well for me. Bosch and Lomb always stung my eyes so I don't use that. THe opti stuff feels better in my eyes.

I wear disposable lens so I usually just use CVS saline solution and I have had no problems....

I'm sure the Opti-free is fine. I'm just used to my brand. My lens were extra dirty as I went a couple of days without cleaning them (something I never do) because I couldn't find the Aeosept. So it was a big job for a new product.

Disneyrsh, I thought the same thing about the contamination issue! Strange. Maybe their equipment was contaminated? Have you had any problems finding Aeosept? For now, I've got the Clear Care and it is basically the same as Aeosept. I never thought regular peroxide could be used interchangeably. That's wild.

I'm kind of freaked about the whole B and L fungus thing. I use B and L Moisture Loc and have since it came out. Well, within the last month my eyes have gotten red and contacts unbareable to wear. I thought it might be eye allergies (which I've NEVER had before) so I got allergy drops. That didn't really help. I thought it might be pink eye too so I got some tobramycin drops and used them religiously (not with my allergy drops mind you). That didn't really work either. My eyes would clear up for a few days, I'd put my contacts back in, and they'd be red again by mid-day. When wearing my contacts I'd still use my B and L Moisture Loc solution. I've made an appt. with my eye Dr. for this week and hopefully he can shed some light on it before I go blind and have to have a cornea transplant!!

I've never used anything but Alcon Opti-free and now Optifree Express. I've had three optomitrists over the time and they've each recomended Optifree so that's good enough for me!

I used to use AO Sept before I got the disposables, now I have been using AMO Moisture Complete. My eye Dr said not to use the AO Sept with disposables. The past couple of weeks, my contacts/eyes have been very dry and I wasn't sure if it was pollen ~ I don't usually have a problem with allergies. I also started using Bare Escentuals makeup and not sure if that is getting in my eyes and causing the dryness :confused3

Last night I decided to open my new free sample of the B & L Renu w/Moisture Loc and see if it is any better...wake up, read the DIS and find out it's been recalled!

Tonight I decided to try another sample I had of the Opti Free...we'll see if it's any better.

I wonder about the Optifree Express, it is basically the same thing as the B&L stuff that is being recalled. I tried it but didn't like it. I went back to my regular Optifree no rub stuff.

For the past month or so I have had to use eye drops several times a day and I thought it was only allergies.

With Optifree do you have to use any other solutions? I've only been wearing contacts for a year so I don't know what all is needed except for my multi solution. :confused3

It disappeared in January with notes in the store that it would be back in June. However it was available on Saturday in new packaging. Make sure you close the container super type. Twice it was empty when I got up in the morning, it had bubbled away.

My lenses feel better now but one still has some build up from 3 months without AOsept.

No, the Optifree No Rub is the only thing you need. I wear disposables and that is all I use (I wear my lenses for about a month and then toss them).

Oh wait, nevermind, the Optifree Express is what I use, it isn't the moisture lock stuff I was thinking. They do make something like the B/L Moisture Lock though. That is the stuff I didn't like.

I'd be freaked out too!! Good luck! I hope it isn't a fungus or any other type of infection.

That's good news that the AOsept is back on the market. Hopefully it will be here too before too long. I've got the same problem with the build up. Hoping the eye doctor will use their "magical machine" to clean my lens when I go in for my exam. I hate to throw them out! There was nothing wrong with them prior to this! Ugh.

The AMO is the same concept as the AOSept, just made by a different company. I switched to it for the time being. When they put AO Sept back on the market, I'll go back. I've used it for so many years.....

I have had allergies to contact materials and solutions and currently have very expensive bi-weekly disposable lens. My opthamologist said that the more often you dispose of them the better for anyone's eyes but I couldn't get dailies because of my super high perscription. My contact specialist said that the only brand of contact solution he would personally recommend is Opti-Free Express. Maybe that has something to do with disposable lens or something but that's his recommendation anyway.

I've never seen AMO! Do you know who makes it? I hope it's available at the stores! It's been crazy trying to find a replacement product.

I got the Clear Care sample at the eye doctors. It's not on the shelves here. The Clear Care is being sold on e-bay as a "hard to find" product. People are making mad money off of this product. I've seen 2, 12 oz bottles go for $30 plus $8 shipping! (And making more than that at times!)
