Contact lens & rides

Actually, I use the "daily wear" .... I just don't take them out daily. :lmao: Seriously, I've used contacts now for over 20 years. I started out diligently taking them out every night to soak but, years later, after a few nights of falling asleep before I took them out... meh... now I just leave them in for a few weeks until they feel grainy then I take them out and get them soaking while I wear another pair for a few weeks. My 6 month supply of contacts usually lasts about 14 months. This is just what I do and I don't suggest a new contact wearer attempt my bad habits. :)

But as far as swimming, oh heck yes, I've swum in the ocean as well as pools while wearing my contacts. I haven't lost one yet in any body of water or on any ride (and I've gone on all of the coasters at Disney). Strangely enough, I have lost a few (3 or 4 over the 20+ years) while rubbing my eyes. :confused3

Are we related? :lmao: I do the same with my contacts. I started leaving them in overnight when I was a volunteer FF and could get called out at anytime, It was just easier. My eyes adjusted well and now I only take them out when they start to get irritated. I too, don't suggest this to new wearers and do recommend regular checkups if you do this kind of wearing)

Did the smoke dry your contacts out when you were a VFF? I've gone camping with DS but I have to be wearing my glasses for the nightly bonf.... I mean campfire. :lmao: After a while, the smoke (even if the wind isn't blowing in my direction) gets my contacts so dried out I can't even blink! :lmao:

I didn't read all the responses, so sorry if this is a repeat...

I've noticed that the "mist" on Pirates of the Caribbean leaves sort of a film on my contacts. I get a good look at Davey Jones and then close my eyes until the mist clears. It's probably just me, but I thought I'd let you know. :)

I wear my contacts all the time and have never had a problem on any of the rides. Always good to keep a bottle of rewetting drops on hand, in case they dry out or get irritated from something in the air. Also, if she uses disposables, it's a good idea to take a fresh, spare pair just in case.
