Does anyone have a contact email address for someone at Loews corporate office? I had a problem at the Portofino over the weekend and I'd like to email someone about it.

Thanks

Don't have the corporate one, but you should call the resort and email the general manager. He would definitely be able to help. If you don't mind me asking, what happened?

I do a lot of travelling for business and I recently became Lowesfirst Platinum. According to their printed materials, I should be automatically upgraded to a suite, recieve a "welcome amenity" (milk and cookies), and receive a USA Today at my door. This is pretty standard for frequent traveller programs (I receive the same amenities at Hilton and Starwood properties).

When I checked in to the Portofino hotel, they refused to move me to the club level and did not even mention that they had villas (I'm not sure if they were available). After a day at the park, there were still no cookies (they were for my son), so I called the front desk and I was told that because I booked my room with a discounted rate, non of the Lowesfirst amenities would be granted.

The next day (after having a problem with the bell stand), I spoke to the front desk manager and told her I'd be calling the Corporate Office and I wanted to make sure that I understood that because I didn't pay the rack rate of $250, I was ineligible for any Lowesfirst benefits. She confirmed that one month ago the Corporate Office sent them a memo instructing them to discontinue Lowesfirst benefits to anyone who booked with a discounted rate.

As I said, I do an extensive amount of travelling and I've got to say that this is the most ridiculous policy I've ever heard of. What they are saying is that they don't care about repeat customers, only repeat customers who pay full price. There are many Lowe's Hotels in markets I visit. I would have considered using them throughout the year in anticipation of having a special time when I bring my family to Orlando. While the FOLT may force me back to one of the on site hotels if we choose to visit Universal again, it will be a cold day in hell before they get any of my other 45 annual stays for business purposes.

I stayed at RPR Sunday night and rec'd Loews First amenities. We went to PBH for the storytelling which was a major disappointment. No Grinch, just an English boy that struggled his way through "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". He said he didn't know the story since he was from England. I didn't ask if everyone from England couldn't read aloud. I asked a Manager about the Grinch and was told the Suess family wouldn't allow them to use the Grinch at Portofino this year. Since the story and the cookies were less than expected we went to shoot a game of pool at the concierge lounge. This is now the Club lounge and we couldn't do that. I'm not going to go back to PBH for awhile.

We had a horrible stay at PBH at the beginning of the month too. I was terribly disappointed in many things, including the argument I received from the girl at the desk about $100 worth of minibar charges that we didn't accrue. I never take the key and asked her to check to see if the key was still there...and guess what...it was there! So someone was filching from our minibar and charging us for it!

We were told the same thing about the Lowe's amenities there..and I don't think it is true either because we got it at the HRH! When we arrived at 11pm, the bellperson took our luggage and then disappeared for 20 minutes! We finally went and got our own luggage, found our room and there we had 2 burned out lights, which I called about several times and only one was replaced. Our toilet leaked, they finally fixed that, and our safe broke and security and maint. had to come up to fix it!

I would like the address to corporate too...the manager was NO help to us on our stay! As my 8yo said...this hotel stinks! We will never stay there again...we have never had any problems at HRH and we have stayed there 8 times. I thought I would try PBH because I got a great entertainment rate.

as pointed out below, responded to an ancient post :rotfl2:

I know there are rates that make you ineligable for Loews First Benefits. I have an AP , and this would make me ineligable for benefits if i used it to book my room.
Upgrades are only to suite if available, you will not recieve an upgrade to club level this has to be booked.
We had a split stay at RPR [which we love]and PBH last year, had problems at PBH, we phoned the front desk very late in the evening on our second night, and a manager was to phone us in the morning, never recieved the call, so went to front desk, and got speaking to a manager ,who never recieved the complaint, we decided to move back to RPR for the rest of our stay, but had to wait to the next day as RPR was fully booked. He was very nice about it and apologised ,we got a free upgrade to suite, for the rest of our stay, and got free fruit a few times as well.
We only wanted to go back to RPR so the upgrade was nice. PBH was a lovely hotel and would go back, if we could not get a room at RPR

Looks like everyone is replying to a post that's five years old...

Karen

i figured that one out when i saw robin hood post the corporate office address.

this is robin hood's first post ever on the dis and how likely and lucky it was he or she decided to come to this old thread to do it......
makes me think it was a set up. but then, what do i know?

you don't find many 5 year old threads pulled up out of nowhere.

i was reading this thread and saw the date.
i know fletcher has been back to pbh since then as he hasn't been complaining about that hotel.

I have to admit that I was perplexed by MotherFletcher saying he wouldn't be going back to the PBH for quite some time. But I STILL did not look at the date. Not enough coffee I guess :surfweb:

I absolutely agree with you Mac, it is a bit suspicious that a first time poster would pull up a 5 year old post. Actually, it would be very difficult to find it unless you knew what you were looking for. Posts from 12/23 - 12/26, 2003 were back on page 128 & 129. (Easy for me to find because I could jump 20 pages at a time just looking at dates, not for a specific post.)

But if Robin Hood really did read 129 pages of posts, :welcome: WELCOME!!!!!!! :welcome: You are one dedicated soul!!!!! :worship: And you have found your home with us other crazy Universal fans!

However, the message is the same, even 5 years later.

Club access is not a Platinum perk. For platinum, you get upgraded to a suite. NOT a suite with club access.

The fault was not Loews nor the Portofino at all, but was entirely about the person staying at the Portofino not understanding the LoewsFirst program and demanding things that he wasn't entitled to, then getting mad when he didn't get them.

The contact information given above was for Lowe's Home Centers, Inc., not Loews Hotels. Very different companies.

I knew he spelled it wrong (had mentioned it in my deleted posts above), but didn't check to see if the name/address was the correct one.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for catching that. And welcome to the DIS!! :welcome:

Have fun at the Hard Rock. You are going to have a blast!

Back to the original 5-year old post, it is true that if you use a discounted rate to book, your stay does not qualify you for LoewsFirst benefits. I found this out when we had our one stay at RPH way back when. I figured my discount was worth more than a plate of cookies and carafe of milk.---Kathy

Some discount rates qualify and some don't. If you check the youfirst webpage, it tells you which ones qualify. Annual pass, AAA, and Florida resident rates do qualify.

AND they took the welcome gift away...which, is ok imo...cuz they gave free internet and plat peeps got that $100 food/bev credit :thumbsup2

take my free milk n cookies....i like the credit better :goodvibes

I was reading about Lowes comments & this is the place for me. What a rip off they are, bought a refrigerator & one day past warrenty the junky plastic inside broke plus the ice maker screws up. I also bought a fan w/lights for my dining room & it wouldn't turn. My husband spent so much time putting it together & then time bringing it back & the one in customer service said nothing when I told her about it just here is your credit slip, not even I'm sorry. They could care less. We then went to Home Depot & got some good service! Never will I go there again. I filled out a report on Rip Off Reports. I will also get in touch w/newspapers. They played with the wrong person now!
This thread has nothing to do with Lowe's Corporation. The OP misspelled the company name...which I will correct. They meant to ask about Loews Hotels...not the home improvement company.
