Cont north wing

Has anyone heard when the Cont north wing rehab will be done?

The rumor is that its not a rehab but a complete demolation for the new CR DVC. Somewhere on this site I saw Permit to demolish posted, issued by Orange County Fla. There were also some drawings also posted.

becky1960, I could be wrong but I think that rumor was proven false. I'm pretty sure the new DVC site was announced for the AKL.

I booked North Garden wing for December this year, so I'm thinkin' it will be done by then.

I'm hoping that someone will post pictures of the current construction over at CR because I'm curious.

Right, all subject to change. The North Wing is under going extensive rehab, due to hurricane damage and asbestos removal. After that is done the rooms will be rehabbed just as the South Wing was.

The interior rehab of the 4th floor continues and then the lobby will be done.

I'd heard about the DVC at the Cont. but since Disney announced the DVC at AKL, I was pretty sure they changed their minds. I'd really like to stay there again this next Dec, with an MK view from the North Garden Wing. Maybe if its not done, they'll upgrade us to an MK view??

If you were able to book a North Garden Wing room for December 2007 at the Contemporary, then I am sure it will be ready long before then & here is why. Last August just before they renovated the 14th floor I had asked a Cast Member on the Atrium Club if they had to move any guests around because of the renovation to the 14th floor. I was told they had known as far back as January 2006 when the renovations to the 14th floor would be going on, so they would make sure that no one was able to make a reservation up there. Basically what I am saying is if you were able to make a North Garden Wing reservation for a specific time, then they must know when the renovation there would be finished by.

I belive you can book either a North Garden Wing room (when it re-opens) or a South Garden Wing room.

Nope. But the ones that have a parking lot view also have an MK view. I'd rather have an MK view over a lake view. But I also faxed in a room request stating I wanted a non-smoking , 3rd floor, MK view in the north garden wing and listed room numbers too.

I requested a North Garden Wing. I know it's just a request. I was thrilled that I could request it.

I agree. The walk back from MK at night is great. It's the quickest way to get back to the room too no matter where you stay at Cont. Staying at Cont makes doing HDDR easier too.
