Construction in California Adventure

Dh gave us passes for Christmas to the Resort in California and today when I took the kids to C.A. we were detoured just inside the entrance due to construction. What is this for, does anyone know? It's been over a year since we have had passes so I haven't kept up with the goings on. I just remember Carsland being announced and being determined to get passes for 2012 so we could visit it. I missed the "Golden Gate" bridge today when we rode the monorail.

We didn't venture too far in either because both parks were flooded with people, more than I have ever seen and we were a bit overwhelmed.

The detour is due to the construction on the new entrance area which will be called Buena Vista St. It's being completely re-imagineered to look like the Hollywood that Walt saw when he first arrived in California. From artist renderings, it looks like it's going to be a pretty cool.

Does anyone know when Buena Vista Street will be completed....it's probably too much to hope for that it will be ready for my visit in March.

Apparently no one knows. Not even Disney. But we can say with high confidence it will not be by March. Hopefully by June.
