Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had some first hand updates on the construction and how it affects your stay at the resorts that are being worked on? We will be there during the 4th of July week.

Yes true. There are about 4 resorts undergoing work. We are trying to choose between them, that's why I did not narrow the replies down

The scope of each project is very different so the answer will be very different.

Generally speaking we avoid resorts with major construction going on. For instance once construction stated at poly we went to WL. This year with construction there we booked AKL. It's not worth it to us to have all that going on around us plus it gives us a chance to try a new resort!

WE stayed at a resort (YC) with construction and were very unhappy with the noise. We asked, and were moved to the BC which made us much happier. Since then, we never knowingly book a stay at a resort undergoing construction. There are always other options and we enjoy all the resorts at WDW in different ways.

Some people are less troubles by construction than others. A lot will depend upon how you use the resort and your tolerance for some disruption/ noise during the day.

Do they have a splash pad at bay lake? The walk to me could be worth the construction

Yes, they do.

BLT is a soft goods refurb, being done in sections. Unless you are spending a lot of time in the room, it is unlikely to be very disruptive.
