Constant ringing in ears

The doctor said I had some fluid in the ears. But I still have the ringing in one. I can't believe how common it is. It is so annoying. It will come and go and it is so quiet when it goes. I hope I do get used to it. Because I can not stand it. I am glad there are other stories like this. Thanks

I hope that I get used to this if this is what I have. It still feels like swimmers ear to me. It feels clogged and when I turn my head it feels full. Is this how it should feel or is it flyid still? I guess I should see a ear, nose, throat doctor next. I've had a little off balance now too.

Mine is just ringing and I have no other symptoms. I want to say I am going on ten years with this. I think you might have some sort of infection and it would be worth checking into it further.

I only really notice it at night...sometimes during the day when I think about it but mostly at night however I have learned to live with it. It was harder at first but now its just like I have my own set of crickets living in my ear....

That does sound like fluid is still in there. I would see an ENT. I've had a fluid in my ear from an infection a few times. Last time I couldn't even hear out of that ear--everything was muffled as if I was wearing ear plugs. My ENT said it can take about a month for all of the fluid to drain sometimes. If you have tinnitus due to an infection that may or may not go away and it can take a long time. I had tinnitus for several months a few years ago (had to get an MRI to rule out anything serious) and eventually it just went away. No idea what caused it or what made it go away, but I was very happy it did because I was thinking it would be permanent.

Yeah I think I'll go one step further and see an ent. I did have ringing in both but the right side popped and now that side quit. I saw a urgent care doctor Friday but she gave me steroids and nasal spray. I really do appreciate all the information. It does help.

I am not a doctor, so I can only speak from personal experience. My ear always feels full and clogged. It all started when the ringing started in my ear. I had sudden hearing loss and tinnitus started all at one time. The ENT says that the fullness is due to the hearing loss that I have had. It certainly is not fun and sometimes it drives me nuts, but I have been dealing with it since 2007 and I keep telling myself that things could be worse. I am very sorry that you are dealing with this. I also have balance issues.

Yours very well could be fluid in your ear or swimmers ear. Your ENT will certainly be able to help you. Good luck!!
