With the major closures happening Janury 11 at Disneyland, how will this affect the crowds on the days leading up to the 11th (7th-10th)? Touring plans has these days at about 5s currently.
Thanks!

By closures I mean refurbishments. This includes Rivers of America, Fantasmic, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and Autopia.

I doubt anyone, including Touring Plans, really knows. Last time when DCA was under heavy construction they offered special ticket deals to entice the locals, so if crowds begin to slip they could very well do the same thing.

I would expect those days right after APs open back up (just before the closures) to be really busy. I think someone said schools were still out a couple of those days as well.

I also agree that crowds are likely to be on the high side through the 10th. The AP blockouts end the weekend before (1/3 and 1/4) so this will the first/last chance for the local AP holders to return to the parks and experience the rides closing on the 11th for potentially a year or more (Rivers of America (Mark Twain/Columbia, Tom Sawyers Island, Canoes), Big Thunder Ranch and BBQ, the railroad, Fantasmic!, and Aladdin), along with those that are closing to have the seasonal overlays removed (HMH and Jingle Cruise) and other refurbishments (Autopia and GRR). Also, as mentioned, some of the local school districts (e.g., LAUSD, Orange, and San Bernardino) are still on winter break through the 10th. So, I would expect to see crowds remain fairly high through the 10th. There might be a slight drop on the 7th (Thu), but I expect the crowds to return on the weekend.

Yeah, once again I disagree with Touring Plans on those days being 5s. They still don't factor in that the large school districts will still be on vacation and that lots of locals will be scrambling to visit attractions before a long shutdown begins. The locals will also be visiting the holiday overlay rides before they go down as well.

I would expect long lines for anything scheduled to be closed or refurbished. Couple this with the ongoing 60th celebration and you've got a recipe for decent crowd levels.

I expect those days to be pretty busy, also. People are going to be going for their 'last fixes', especially in the afternoons during the week.
