By all means, continue sending your letters about what you like about VMK, what it has done for you, and how you want to save it. But I think that even if VMK doesn’t make it beyond May 21st, all the feedback could be useful in guiding Disney’s future virtual world development. We don’t know the reasons why Disney doesn’t want to expand VMK as it is now; maybe there are limitations that Disney can overcome only by starting from scratch. Maybe Disney would run the game differently next time around.

I believe Yavn when he tells us about current product development. No company that wants to stay competitive would go without planning ahead. For example, I was looking through some Walt Disney Company job openings this morning for hints about upcoming projects. Found a few openings that give insight into what is ahead:

Producer, Virtual Words: “We are looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Producer to develop, launch and maintain our Massively Multiplayer Online Games products. These currently include Cars, Toontown Online, Pirates of the Caribbean Online, Fairies and other products currently in development.”

Senior Project Manager, Walt Disney Park and Resorts Online: “On a day to day basis, we create online entertainment that connects to our Parks. To do this, we use as diverse a set of approaches and technologies as necessary -- you may be working on casual games or mobile applications one day and virtual worlds, alternate reality games, or physical Park installations the next.”

I want VMK to stay, just as you do, but let’s look forward to the future as well and be sure that Disney knows what the VMK players want in their virtual world games. Disney is a company that goes to great lengths to listen to and respond to guest feedback, and the letters they recieve could have a profound influence on future development.

This is a really good point. Whether or not all of the letters and calls can save VMK, I don't know. And if they do, that would be brilliant, in my opinion. But if they don't, hopefully VMK will look at what everybody sent in. Each letter was sent with heart and reasons why we all think VMK is incredible. That kind of passion can't be ignored. Hopefully they'll look at what elements us players enjoy most in VMK and transfer that on to whatever new projects they have in store.

Yup. If they close VMK, my letters will keep on getting sent. They'll just be more along the lines of "either bring back VMK or create something comparable for us."

:confused3 Very good point. We need to try but even in our trying we are still telling Disney what we want.

All the touching letters would even make Scrouge shed a tear. At Disney they are not scrouges. They really want to make people happy.

This whole issue is confusing. The six weeks notice lets keep releasing new items and enjoy the time we have left. makes no sense why not just stop.

Most websites just close up no notice. If what is said that Disney knows its guests. Then they should have known what the response would be.

I look back over this quest and some how I feel we are a pawn in a larger battle.

You see most of us had to get on other chat forums to get communicating to form the teams. Many for me I have not talked to in months.

Now that we have found ways to talk and communicate which each other. Then one week later they drop this news. We are hearing that they decided this awhile ago. But we we always told great and new things are coming out.

This is not adding up. Something behind the scenes is happening. I do not think Disney is doing this. Leading us on. But I do believe Disney can let us know what they are working on. Unless then again their is property rights they are fighting over.

I tend to believe it is a contract problem, what Disney owns what the producers of VMK own.

I am sure Disney knows that the costumer service was not up to the excellent service Disney strives for. I am sure it was not good for them to here about the bad comunications. Disney wants the best product for its guests. Lets face it we the way the people who communicated with us did not treat us the way we know disney does.

Maybe the only way they can give us what we desire it to really build it from scratch.

But then this is my question. Why not let this run until they are ready.?

Then I hear it takes @three years to create a game like VMK. Funny it is almost three years.

I do not believe in my heart that after reading story after story of hurting kids, families and friends Disney does not care.

I am sure they are trying just as hard as we are to do something.

Please keep those letter going. If we choose to believe they are, then they need those letters to keep them going just as by reading them we have been even more determined not to stop.

Yes this journey is getting even more confusing after each day
