Considering Royal instead of DCL - opionions?

We just did just this. We are Platinum Castaway Club members on DCL with 13 cruises and 118 nights under our belt. We booked a Arabian Gulf cruise on the Splendour of the Seas for just before Christmas as we had vacation time and nowhere to go. We had previously straight from DCL once and tried NCL and this did not really work for us. We loved Royal Caribbean. If you are interested, here is a comparison that I did after this trip:

The Serenade of the Seas is slightly bigger than the Splendour of the Seas and I think pretty much exactly the same size as the Magic and the Wonder.

Since dcl doesn't do the New England coast cruise every year, I think we have decided to stay with them. We do want to try royal, but will probably try an itenarary that dcl doesn't offer. Even with 2 additional ports, I feel like I would be "missing" something if I jump to royal. A lot of this has to do with us just being very DIsney centric people. I appreciate e the feedback, helpful as always.

If it has two extra stops, it IS a different itinerary.

But they are extra, right? How is the MDR food? I'm booked on the Magic and BOS for Europe this year, trying to decide which to take.

We (vegetarians) prefer royal's food to disney's.

We ended up (somehow) with a credit for specialty dining in March and are psyched to try either Sabor or Giovanni's. :)
