My wife and I have a number of questions that I hope someone can answer for us.

1. What is the process for borrowing points from future years? How many can you borrow? Is there a fee? Drawback?

2. If you are a few points short one year and you need to rent points (say 10-50) do the new points have to added as a new reservation or can the points just be purchased and transferred from the seller's account to the buyer's account?

3. How good are the World Passport hotels? Are they worth the points? The DVC rep said the the World Passport hotels are "tied to the DVC point system". What exactly did she mean by that?

4. Has anyone stayed at any of the DVC World Passport or Conceirge hotels in Hawaii and your thoughts on them.

Thank you,
Jonnygib

You may only borrow points when actually making a reservation. You can borrow up to 100% of your next year's allotment. There is no fee to borrow points. Drawback - none, unless you count the fact that you may not be able to take a trip because you borrowed all the points for a previous year's trip. Borrowing is not bad, but it can lead to an add on, LOL.

You can have the points transferred into your account or you can have another member make a reservation for you. Your choice.

She was talking abut the exchanges with Interval International. It is a set number of points per week no matter where you trade to. The number required depends on the season (high, mid or low) and the size of unit you want (studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom). World Passport trades are for intervals of one week.

Several people have traded for Hawaii. Do a search for "Hawaii" and you will find several reports.

You're welcome - good luck with your decision.

I have a question about borrowing also. Is there a limit to borrowing your future points? What I mean is say you borrow 2007 points for a trip in 2006. If you then want to take a trip in 2007 can you borrow the points for 2008? Just wondering how this works. Thank you.

Yes you can borrow 2008 points in 2007 even if you borrowed 2007 for 2006. My wife and I try to stay almost an entire year ahead so that when the time comes to take a year off from travelling to add another one to our Disney family we don't have to worry about what to do with those points.
