Hello everyone,
I am planning a trip to Disneyworld from 12/17 to 12/26 for my girlfriend and I. Can someone please state some discounts for hotel rates at the resort? I am trying to decide if the discounts will offset the purchase of an AP. We will probably stay at a Value Resort, but if the savings are big enough, anything is possible. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you all so much in advance!

I would call 407 wdisney and see if anything is available! (ASAP) The AP rates where going like hot cakes. You do not need to have the ap to get the rate. You can buy it after booking if you get a room on the phone. Just call and give your dates and ask for an annual pass holder discount rate. They will tell you if anything is available. I am still trying to get 1 more day on the discount and I called all morning the day they came out, have been checking since then but not available, for the poly on my date (day after thanksgiving, I have all but given up).

Good luck, MKY ;)

Don't buy an AP just for that reason alone. You may be disappointed.

If you will going to the parks each day of your stay, then an AP may be what you want anyway. You will at WDW 10 days counting the arrival and departure days the breakeven is 8 or 9 days. If the AP discount is available that would just be icing on the cake.

Nooooooo! Don't do it!

We were sold AP's by a CM who definitely stressed the discounts as a benefit. That along with seeing my sister get them over and over in the past 2 years, and we bought them for the whole family.

Now we're going down there this month, just about the only month of the entire year with no AP discounts!

Unless you plan on using it more than 10 or 11 days in the next 12 months for park admission (at which point it pays for itself) don't do it. You'd be better off looking into booking a package, or getting AAA and taking their room discounts.

Never, ever again will we make the same mistake!

Call right away and see if there are AP discounts available for your dates. You don't need to have an AP until you check in.

Then weigh your options. If you are able to get the discount, figure out how much money it saved you and if it is worth it to get the AP. Also take into consideration how many days you will be there. Keep in mind that only one person needs an AP to get the discount, so it may be cheaper for one of you to get the AP while the other gets a hopper. In any case, I would call right away to check on AP availability.

Are AP rates out yet for January and February?

AP rates are available for check ins through 12/26/03. If you check in by the 26th, the rate will be good through your entire stay.

I think it's worth it. I made reservations before I bought the AP. We got Poly GV for $190 vs. $299 and AKL Concierge for $277.64 vs. $475. I also got 2 rooms so it's twice the savings. The AP cost $392.99 vs. $284.50 for a six day park hopper plus. I guess I'll have to go back to WDW before it expires next year. Poor me.
