Considering buying resale...what is best resort?

We own at SSR and have been able to book HH both this summer and last at seven months out for 5 days in July, so I disagree that HH is impossible to get for summer. FWIW, SSR is available easily on the resale market both through traditional timeshare resellers and on Ebay @ $78-80 pp, making it a really good deal.
It's not impossible but it is difficult for mid June to mid August and is likely to become more and more so.

I found this thread really helpful as I am also trying to compare resale with SSR. Where can I find information on the maintenance fee? I checked the FAQs and did not find it.

Thanks,

Jane

There is one reason to buy where you want to stay: if DVC decides to rescind our ability to book at the other DVC resorts, then you will be stuck staying ONLY at the resort you own at. If you own at Hilton Head or Vero and you always stay at Walt Disney World, you'll be out of luck.
Frankly, I think anyone who books at the busiest times of year is near crazy anyway, and I have NEVER had trouble booking a one bedroom even three months in advance.
I own at Old Key West and rarely stay there. We bought there because the points were cheap as dirt ($53) and the fees were the lowest. But we much prefer the Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge Villas. We'll stay in those as much as possible. But, if one day DVC decides that all of us can only book in our home resort in the future, at least our home resort will be in Walt Disney World.
