So, the great news is I might be heading to Disneyland this summer... August most likely. The surprising thing is I just got home from my first WDW trip a week and a half ago! The sad thing is the reason for my trip is my dad has cancer and will be in treatment in CA for 2 months. The cool thing is it might be over my b-day and our anniversary, plus my cousin lives out that way so I can see him too. Anyhow... I need some advice, lay it on. I will sort through the answers and take what seems useable to me, I know you will not ALL agree on everything! :goodvibes I am wondering about character meals... what/where are they? Where is the best deal on passes? Recomended lodging? Recomendations on length of stay? I have been to Disneyland (not CA adventure) YEARS ago and my memory is that it is TINY compared to WDW... and maybe 3 days is enough? It would be me, my son, and maybe husband and parents. We struggle finacially but since I might be out to see my dad may as well see Mickey too! TIA!!!

For the length of stay, the "rule of thumb" for DLR is 3 to 5 days.

Since you haven't been to DLR in a while, I recommend staying for at least 4 days.

Just read everything by Hydroguy, then come back here with specific questions. :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he recovers ok. My dad went through prostate cancer last year but is now cancer free :cool1:

But I hope you enjoy your chance to visit DL!

THANKS!

I am no WDW "vet", that is just my most recent experience... funny thing is that trip was planned in under a month so less than 2 months ago I was on here saying almost the opposite, that I had been to DL and not WDW and needed to know where to start. :) I have not had enough time to check all the links, but have started and am learning a lot. Thanks so much, I am sure I will have a million more questions to come.
