Whew-had to come over here and regroup after being slammed around on the "christian nation" thread. I should have known better than to get involved, but there are just things that I can't let go by.

Were they able to beat you into submission?? They have no respect for people who defend their convictions. It just increases their bitterness towards you. I like how you ruffle their feathers.

To some it feels good to be a victim. Makes them able to blame others for their failures or circumstances. They are victims because they refuse to acknowledge that the equality is there; they choose to ignore it and pretend that big, bad 'people' are holding them back.

excellent point. then they'd be subject to the same credit lending requirements and then have to pay their mortgages.

They're some bunch, aren't they? People like me drive them absolutely crazy. When I don't say the exact thing that fits into their preconceived notion, they just pretend I did!

They're some pretty good athletes though, all those leaping to conclusions and twisting people's words....they must be in great shape!!!

I'm proud of you for standing up for your beliefs even when bullied by those people. I've noticed they have no problem defending their beliefs but won't listen when someone else defends theirs. oh, honey, you know tolerance is a one way street.

Here's another thing-I stay away from the liberal thread. I do so because I really believe that the different sides need a place where they can go and be themselves. I don't read there, I don't post there-and even if I did I would never drag anything said there out onto the main board. I thought that was the idea of having the two threads.
