I never said 'all' you just assumed.

PS, I think you took a wrong turn, this is the C-O-N-S-E-R-V-A-T-I-V-E thread.

I never said that you meant me... I asked why you would come to that conclusion and gave myself as an example....

ah... yes I know what thread this is.... I have been here quite a few times and usuallly had some good conversations:goodvibes

still in the rice drying.... someone emailed me and said we should wait even longer than 48 hours.... LOL so it will be a while before we know!!

:goodvibes What makes you think that??? This SAHM does watch the view but that is not my news source....
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think it's safe to assume that there is a substantial number of women who are not interested in politics. They do not watch The View with an intent to garner "news", but since they don't seek out their news from other sources, then that is their primary venue. As a result, such a show can have a significant influence in shaping their perspectives.

Heck, all of my friends are conservatives, and I'm the only liberal in the group, so I have no problem w/being friends w/conservatives outside the political ring, but once politics are brought up, its onnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!

I'm sitting here at my computer waiting for our IT guys to get back from lunch so I'm glad I brought along one of my sewing projects. Here's my latest endeavor:
http://www.ericamichaels.com/wethepeople.html

Once it is done and on the wall, along with two of my other projects, I'll have the Declaration of Independence (entirely) in a print and up, the preamble to the Constitution (this) and a quilt wallhanging with the Pledge of Allegiance.

I figure at the rate we are going one or more of these documents will be outlawed so I might as well do my part to preserve them:rotfl:

Beautiful stuff. I wish I had that kind of talent.

I feel kind of sorry for many of them, actually. Imagine going through life that angry and bitter. And they're going to get angrier and more bitter as time goes on and they realize they've attached their "hope" to a man that can't possibly do all the things he promised and all the things that they have convinced themselves he will do.

well on sunday he told george steppedinawfulstuff, in no uncertain terms, that they can't keep all their campaign promises. supporters were probably doing the "la la la la la la la" thing with their fingers in their ears though.

So I heard.

Interesting thing about the rice. I never knew that.

Last spring we were outside with the kids planting flowers in the front yard, and after we planted them all got the hose to water it all down....and then sprayed the kids. They all ran around the yard screaming and laughing. Then he decided that I was way too dry, and attacked me as well, only my beloved Chocolate was in my pocket. I loved that cell phone. Needless to say it was completely soaked. My chocolate....melted!

I could have possibly spared it had I known about drying it in rice. I didn't let it dry out apparently as long as I needed it to, and it went all weird. I had to replace it.

Soarin--I wanna follow your blog!!

I'm a SAHM as well, and knew what ward meant.:confused3 And ITA, and can relate to it. I have family who decided to vote for BO because of Oprah.

Wow!
Don't forget to post pics! I wish I knew how to do that stuff. I may have to take a class someday. Once I'm done with my baking obsession. :wizard:

Which brings up a question for everyone. Are most of your friends conservative like you? I have no close friends that are. Most of my friends are not very political, but lean left. A few are very left. I don't know how we manage to get along, with me being such a closedminded, far right wing nutjob, neo-con and all.

i meet more and more conservatives all the time, but that is only because they accidentally say something out loud that's a clue. in california, you really find yourself assaulted if you say something within hearing range of a liberal.

i've had a maniac in the workplace "overhear" an extremely quiet conversation i had with somebody, then come to scream at me so i'd know what an ignorant moron i am. this was the same person who called payroll to scream at them because "bush lied" when he said there'd be a tax decrease (within a pay range which she was not).

i also lost a friend of 15 years when he befriended somebody who would, out of the blue, start spewing abrasive blanket statements at the sight of a mccain bumper sticker, and then proceed to call me names. this was quite recent and i'm still very sad about losing my friend (who never, ever came to my defense.)

at work i sit near the kitchenette, where i get to hear all sorts of nasty things about conservatives, flung around at the top of people's lungs. when they're in there, i make a point of needing another glass of water and i walk through...one guy always comments, "oh, here comes that evil one."

short answer: in california, it isn't easy to find conservative friends, so i think we keep our mouths shut most of the time, and are thrilled to find others who are like-minded, but that is few and far between

I was a WAHM, right now a SAHM currently looking for another wah job, and I watch neither the view nor oprah. I could give a crap what those harpies think. :dance3:

People are ignorant. Case in point:
My half-sister, her fiance, and his family all wanted to vote for bho. Want to know why? Because he's black. I quote her: "It's time we had a black man in the White House". Yup. That's the reason. I asked her what they knew about him, his policies, his beliefs, and she said "nothing, "but C----(fiance's name) and fam is black so they want obama" and she would vote for him "because C---- is".
And yes, she said 'is'.

But I digress.
We've never watched 24. Is it good? :rolleyes1
