Conservative thread: We're still smiling!

I think it's safe to assume that there is a substantial number of women who are not interested in politics. They do not watch The View with an intent to garner "news", but since they don't seek out their news from other sources, then that is their primary venue. As a result, such a show can have a significant influence in shaping their perspectives.

i see your point... and I am sure that is true of some....

but I still am not sure why wardfamily singled out SAHM.... I am sure there are many working folks who Tivo the show.....
I guess i just didn't get the sahm specifics :confused3

and of course I think that it is a terrible source for "news" ...

I don't think ward was intentionally singling out SAHM but was just using them as an example.
If you prefer, substitute "teenagers" for SAHM and "MTV" for "view". :lmao: ;)

LOL no thanks..I try (key word try) not to generalize about groups....:goodvibes

I was a WAHM, right now a SAHM currently looking for another wah job, and I watch neither the view nor oprah. I could give a crap what those harpies think. :dance3:

People are ignorant. Case in point:
My half-sister, her fiance, and his family all wanted to vote for bho. Want to know why? Because he's black. I quote her: "It's time we had a black man in the White House". Yup. That's the reason. I asked her what they knew about him, his policies, his beliefs, and she said "nothing, "but C----(fiance's name) and fam is black so they want obama" and she would vote for him "because C---- is".
And yes, she said 'is'.

But I digress.
We've never watched 24. Is it good? :rolleyes1

That's what some folks at church said too-they voted for him because they wanted to see a black man become President.

Whew-had to come over here and regroup after being slammed around on the "christian nation" thread. I should have known better than to get involved, but there are just things that I can't let go by.

I try but I don't always succeed. I tend to see most groups in a particular way when 99% of the people that I know IRL who belong to those groups all behave a certain way. You always have those who buck the system, though. pirate:

'course he isn't black. he's mulatto. the whole world is forgetting he is half white.

i'm getting annoyed with these commercials for everything talking about the first "african-american" president, or about the upcoming historic inauguration.

first of all, he hasn't proved that he's american. i never refer to myself with my heritage first, then "american". i'm an american and he'd better be too.

second, if people REALLY REALLY want everybody to stop focusing on race, they ought to start now and stop focusing on his color(s). it is simply idiotic and contrary to what people SAY they want.

third, i think they're all historic. we are very fortunate. this inauguration won't be any more historic than all the others. they are ALL historic.

this wasn't directed at you personally....i just needed to say it.

You know, I've wondered for years why people do that. Isn't being an American important enough? Why do people have to hyphenate it?
