Good morning everyone :surfweb:

hey, does anybody else love to watch "ace of cakes" and "amazing wedding cakes"?

Me!!! I know i'm a little late on the uptake, but I watch Ace of Cakes!! I'm kind of addicted tot he Food Network, and yes, it's the Food Network that it's on. And oh...there's a new season starting...lots more cakes!

I love MySpace because you can personalize your page. It's more fun. But Facebook has more of my old friends on it. I check both everyday. I try to keep it a politics free zone, though. My real life friends are there and very few are conservative. I don't like to engage in debate with people I love.

That's what message boards are for, right? :thumbsup2

Yeah I don't usually put political stuff on either. Except around the election I started getting feisty with some of my friends. They were doing that thing that you could "donate your status" which I thought was kind of stupid, but after seeing my entire page full of Obama support, I was getting kind of P.O'd so I was like, screw it, I'm donating my status for McCain. So I did. The end. Good story, no? I have it on there who I support, but that's it. I engage in no debate on my facebook profile. You want a debate you can actually talk to me. :goodvibes

I didn't have much on my myspace. There's a link to www.blowoutcongress.com, and something for Sarah Palin.

I do have a "piece of flair" on my facebook that simply says "No thanks, I already have a Messiah" with Obama's logo behind a red circle/slash.:rotfl:

They had to keep talking over Ann because she was quoting actual statistics from a progressive organization that refuted all their opinions! They had nothing to counter her facts with, so they had to screech and scream.

I do have conservative flair, too. People always "gift" them to me. I have had a few send some pretty ugly anti-Obama things but I don't display them on my "flair board." I know it's hard to believe that a conservative can be compassionate ;) but I really don't want to post things which might offend my liberal friends.

Which brings up a question for everyone. Are most of your friends conservative like you? I have no close friends that are. Most of my friends are not very political, but lean left. A few are very left. I don't know how we manage to get along, with me being such a closedminded, far right wing nutjob, neo-con and all.

I live in Unionland so Republicans are few and far between. Besides my parents and siblings (and husband), I have very few conservative friends.

Most of our friends are very similar to us, we go to the same Church and our beliefs are similar. A few of our friends did vote for Obama, but the reason they chose to do that was not really belief system, but more about history. (at least that's what they told us)

We also live in the South, where all the "redneck, ignorant neo-cons" live, so I guess we're lucky that way. :rotfl2:

I have friends from both sides of the spectrum, but seeing as how most evangelical Christians and military are conservatives, I'm usually in like-minded company.

I'm gonna have to hunt down Ann on the View and Hannity's show from last night. Maybe I'll find them on youtube when I get home (blocked at work)

Heeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy..........what's this page 2? I don't think so. ;)

Jack Bauer is yum-yum. Sometimes that show is a little overly-dramatic, but we still love it.

Joy Behar is a :clown: . Remember that skit on SNL they did of the View? I cracked up that a male comedian portrayed her, and he had her mannerisms down pat! I always think of that when I watch that show now. If you notice- she does toss her head around while rolling her eyes and fixes her shirt throughout the show. She does it a lot more when Elisabeth talks. :rolleyes1 A poker player, she'll never be. :rotfl2: She is a horrible person on that show, and I hope they get rid of her miserable mug.

The View is on right now. I will not watch. I will not watch. I will not watch......:headache:

Oh, 'most' of our friends and family are middle of the road when it comes to politics. However, some are pushing on us how great Obama is going to be. :rolleyes1

We shall see. popcorn::

yes, now that 24 is back, everything stops for the almighty Jack Bauer at our house. Nothing gets cleaned, nothing is said. All attention is solely on the TV.

Same rule pretty much applies to Glenn to, so we are eager for Monday to get here!

Greetings! Stranded in Iceland. Please send money.:lmao:

Actually, if someone could please pm me the new thread when it starts. Doubt I will be back online for the next 2+ weeks.

MR. Man.... you wouldn't believe.... well maybe you would. Cooks are not used to being 11 bang bang. Accountability checks at 2330? :headache:

Hey did any of you watch Hannity last night? We missed it since it was on at the same time as 24. I was curious how the format of the new show went since it was his debut without Colmes.
Darn it, I forgot!!!!:headache: I think I get Fox News in the dorm but I'm not sure. I swear, I've never watched 24 but I guess I need to- that's pretty much all Glenn has talked about on the radio show all week.:yay:

Haha, I have plenty of anti-Obama/pro-conservative flair, but I don't display it. I just display all the Disney World flair and some other flair that I made.:rolleyes1 Like those pictures of Glenn in my signature?? Those are flair that I made and have on one of my boards.

:woohoo:  :cheer2: :dance3: :dance3: I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!!!!! 6 more days!!!!!!!:woohoo: And guess what?? One week from today I leave to go to FL!!!:yay:

I have a healthy mix, which is good for my personality. I have a naturally rebellious attitude, and if I was surrounded by just one side, then I'd start feeling the need to buck it. Also, my lib friends have a decent sense of humor and we can bust on each other without it turning ugly. Quite different than most of the libs online who seem so pissy and arrogant.

:thumbsup2 That's exactly how my friends are. I have a mix of cons and libs for friends, but politics don't seem to affect the friendship. My best friend voted for Obama, and she has one of these in her room- http://hbcukidgear.com/store/produc...d=281&osCsid=e87b8818ce98274ce492b6918c143cd4 , and I was teasing her about how it doesn't look a thing like Obama and such and she agreed and laughed along with me. I think most libs here would have gotten offended by my saying that.

We Tivo 24 so we don't have to sit on edge throughout commercials. DH laughs because at the end of every cliffhanger show I say "I HATE this show" . But I don't mean it. ;) :rotfl:

Jack sure knows how to re-load a pistol. :lovestruc

Remember him in the movie Lost Boys? I still love that movie. The two Corys, too. I miss the 80's.

I just watched. Joy is such a witch (with a capital B of course). She's presented with cold hard FACTS from Coulter so she has to try bashing with one-liners and talking over her.

The saddest part about this is there are a lot of stay at home moms that watch the view and get their only source of 'news' from those twits.:sad2: Kind of like the 18-25 crowd that only get their news from Jon Stewert.

I have a friend here at work who is a self proclaimed socialist. She's an old hippie and thinks the Gov't should pay for EVERYTHING, including our homes and food. :sad2: Needless to say we don't discuss politics anymore, that's how we remain friends. We talk about movie stars.:3dglasses

Most people I hang around though are conservative leaning, if they aren't we just don't discuss politics, it's pretty easy.

I never said 'all' you just assumed.

PS, I think you took a wrong turn, this is the C-O-N-S-E-R-V-A-T-I-V-E thread.
