He's great! Too cute for words.

Tell me this isn't the cutest thing ever! These two are in love with each other.

We're still very much in honeymoon mode. We love him

oh gosh, how adorable!

Hi all, happy New Year! Hard to believe another year has come and gone.

Continued prayers for my mom are appreciated (and me too). I'm still reading, but mostly taking a break from posting... I need the time to collect my thoughts and, frankly, to get a grip. Also taking time to upload WDW photos on Facebook, etc.

The puppies are so cute! As is your son, T&G. I hope everyone facing employment and/or health issues gets things turned around soon. As always, y'all are in my prayers.

JB- I'm glad you've gotten to rest - that's probably the best thing for you right now. About that quilting site, I've lurked but haven't joined the forum. Service projects :scared1: sound a little above my skill set but I might just give it a whirl - and what a nice idea.

Blestmom - great pictures! Especially from the plane - wow! I'll talk to my pastor to see if we can have square-dancing at OUR church's New Year's Eve service - looks like lots of fun, even with a parka and Ugg boots. :lmao: But were y'all outside for the dancing part? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: What a sweet-looking family you have...and that little Jack

Hilarie -   for Reagan, too! You should frame that picture of him and your son sleeping, they're both SOOOOOOO cute!

SD - we're praying for you and your mom.

I was out til past 2 this morning - a good friend and I spent way too long chatting. It is such a blessing to have friends you've known for years - she and her husband came to my church as youth directors, I was 13 and they were expecting their first child. Now they're expecting their first grandchild and I'm not 13 anymore! And they've been some of my dearest friends - he's also our pastor now so, unfortunately, I've had to share them with the rest of the congregation.

I slept in this morning, woke up with a burst of energy and thought, 'today I'll make that cinnamon bread [mkingdomlvr posted the recipe].' I knew it would take a while since it has to rise but wasn't expecting to eat my first piece [which was breakfast by the way] at 4:45! Oh well, it was/is delicious - this will be a wonderful breakfast treat for the next few days. I highly recommend the recipe - just make sure you're not that hungry when you're making it. The smell of bread baking and a growling tummy are not a happy combination...

While my bread was rising, I worked on nailing down some details for my trip - woo-hoo! I ordered our luggage tags from ME and revamped some of my ADRs - woo-hoo! Cleaned up the kitchen several times today, talked on the phone more than was planned, and made some pizza dough. If anyone likes to make homemade pizza and has a stand mixer [it doesn't even have to be red!], I have an easy recipe that makes 4 med/lg or 8 small pizzas - it takes a couple of hours to rise but freezes really well. I've gotten into the habit of making the dough on one day, freezing it, then, when I want pizza, I just defrost it while I'm at work, and make the pizza when I get home.

I love putting names and faces together. Thanks for all the great pictures.

Good freaking grief, I leave for a few days and poof! Y'all go talking crazy on me.

Hope everyone had good holidays. Mine were pretty good. I got a Wii and a Wii Fit, so I've been trying to play with that. But my best Christmas present was....

My neurosurgeon has agreed to go ahead with tumor removal! I'll be heading to Houston in February/March to have it done.     I get my surgery date next week. I'm so excited! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

But were y'all outside for the dancing part? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

No, that part was inside, but we were going in and out so much for the bonfire and fireworks and smores...that most people just left their coats and boots on. Plus, if you were seated anywhere near the doors to eat (which we were) it was just freezing.

Here's a picture of the door leading into the church gym, all iced over.

I sure hope this cold spell breaks soon.

That does sound like a nice time with your friends. :goodvibes

Details, details! Send me a PM with your ADRs....we're not doing any table service this trip, but we have in the past, and I'd love to hear where you're going to eat.

If anyone likes to make homemade pizza and has a stand mixer [it doesn't even have to be red!], I have an easy recipe that makes 4 med/lg or 8 small pizzas - it takes a couple of hours to rise but freezes really well. Ooh...I would love this! My boys have a friend over, so adding him to my 5, I think 4 medium homemade pizzas would be perfect for this large crew...

Can you send me the recipe, please? :goodvibes

You know, I just really like this lady...

From Sarah Palin:

Palin also commented on her daughter and Johnston's new parenthood. Her daughter, Bristol, gave birth Saturday to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. The statement ended with Palin's preference to keep the baby a private, family matter.

"We are over the moon," she said about her new grandson.

"The road ahead for this young couple will not be easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy," Palin said. "Bristol and Levi are committed to accomplish what millions of other young parents have accomplished, to provide a loving and secure environment for their child. They are both hard workers, they're very strong, and have faith they've made the right decision in setting aside their own interests to make this child their highest priority."

Palin added: "When Bristol and Levi first told us the shocking news that she was pregnant, to be honest, we all at first looked at the situation with some fear and a bit of despair. Isn't it just like God to turn those circumstances into such an amazing, joyful blessing when you ask Him to help you through?"

Take a look at the snug society projects. We do very very simple blocks for these quilts. Right now we are working with a couple of different charity groups but looking to possibly add one or two more this year. Join on in :)

Blestmom-I just love your governor more and more everytime I see something she has said. Last night DH was rolling on the floor laughing at all the Palin-haters that posted "reviews" of her calendar on Amazon. Not a single one had anything to say but 3rd grade insults that sounded more like they came from the playground bully rather than anyone of any intelligence. He said he should buy me one to put up at my office since I'm the lone conservative in my department. Maybe I should have it and hang my Air Force one right next to it so they can stare at two things they apparently despise :lmao:

I'm feeling a little better today. My BIL came into town yesterday to go to the Armed Forces Bowl game. He and his girlfriend met up with us for dinner tonight before they headed back home to Arkansas. I'm kinda glad we didn't end up working it this year, as I would have been too sick. Last year I got to work for ESPN at the game right down on the field with the sideline commentator. It was a total blast and I made a nice little bundle for the afternoon. They gave me an extra on-field pass for DH so he was hob-knobbing with all the generals and such who were sideline on the AF side.

One of DH's closest buddies is deploying probably next week for Afghanistan so please keep him in your thoughts. He's a single dad with a 3 yr old son so he's pretty torn about going. He wants to go, but doesn't want to leave his son.

Will keep him in our prayers. Where's the boy's mom? Will she have him?

We got a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas; bought the Wii on craiglist and SIL gave us WiiFit. Really, really fun! :yay:

DH is going to be looking for another job soon. We're also talking about maybe him finding a different company to work for when we move to CA; right now he's not feeling any job security with this his current company.
His brother-in-Christ, Roy, is a manager for a cellphone service provider and has offered to help him get a job with that company. He'd make decent money. It's something we're praying about.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!! :goodvibes

Tink- I love your pics!!! Robbie is soooo cute in that pic!!!!

Soarin- I can't wait to read your trip report!

Hilarie- Those pics are adorable!!! Enjoy your new puppy!

Blestmom- your pics are awesome. That skyline is incedible!

I love seeing pics of everyone- it's very cool!

JB- hope you feel better fast. And your DH's buddy

Continued prayers for SD and those that need them.

Have a great day, Debbie#4!

:rotfl2: You and Bella crack me up over that pic.

I would like to see your recipe! :thumbsup2 I want to try that bread as well.
Here's what happened with my baking:

I need to return my Kitchen Aid- the motor does not sound like it's working right. :confused3 Both my mom amd MIL said it was not right. When I shut it off, it makes kind of a grinding noise, almost like it's taking awhile for the motor to shut down. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right. It also jumps around a lot, like the top part is loose. So, DH is taking me tomorrow to exchange it for a new one. No worries. :)

But I did get to make Linzer Tarts, Calzones, and Black Bottom Cups.
The Linzer Tarts came out so professional Rachel Martha Paula like :rolleyes1 , that no one believed I made them! Unless they where lying to me, hmmmm. ;)
Calzones I made a regulay pizza dough for, but they where a little too crispy. I usually make them out of store bought pizza dough.

DD caught a cold from the sickies at our parties, so I haven't been able to be on. I'm glad everyone had a safe and happy new year! :)

Thanks! It should be an interesting ride.

I knew I missed someone- shame on me....

That is such good news! I wish you the best of luck. :goodvibes My aunt had a brain tumor removed a few years ago, and she's doing fine. How have you been feeling?

It'll be updated in about an hour.:thumbsup2

I knew I missed someone- shame on me....

That is such good news! I wish you the best of luck. :goodvibes My aunt had a brain tumor removed a few years ago, and she's doing fine. How have you been feeling?

Thanks! Yup, it's the best present I could have gotten for Christmas this year.

I'm doing OK, thanks for asking. I'm fighting with a cold, which is good because I'd rather have it now than in a month and a half!!!!!! Otherwise, it's kind of business as usual, you know, headaches, etc. But, I guess I'm used to them now, so I try not to let them bother me too much.

That's great that she's doing well.

I love, love, love my surgeon. He's adorable and LOVES hockey, so we've got something in common. I knew there was a reason I picked a guy who went to McGill. It wasn't just for his skillz... ha ha ha :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pizza dough, as requested:

5 cups of bread flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 envelope of active dry yeast [or 2 teaspoons]
1-3/4 cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Put the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl, mix well. Then add oil and water. Knead dough for 5-10 minutes, until dough pulls away from the sides. Form dough into ball then put into greased bowl covered with greased plastic wrap. Let rise for at least 1-1/2 hours. Punch down dough and divide into 4 parts. To freeze, wrap each part in plastic wrap then put all four parts into large freezer bag. Then you can just pull out what you need.

To make pizza, preheat oven to 450 degrees. Roll out dough onto a surface that is lightly covered with corn meal [keeps it from sticking], spread olive oil in a thin layer on rolled-out dough [makes the dough brown evenly], add your favorite toppings, slide into oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Yummm....I love homemade pizza.

Good freaking grief, I leave for a few days and poof! Y'all go talking crazy on me.

Wii Fits must have been THE gift this year - I've heard several people talking about them.

Welcome back - I'm glad you made it safely through all the snow. I guess I am happy you get to have surgery in Feb/March - but I hate that you're even having to go through all of this. I'll praying that the surgery does relieve your condition radically and that your recuperation will be swift.

cold spell seems rather euphemistic for 31 below zero - that's more like being on Pluto or somewhere else really far away from the sun - brrrrrrrrrr....

You know, I just really like this lady...

Okay, I might be able to swing very very simple blocks - they just might not look like the pattern says they're supposed to look.

One of DH's closest buddies is deploying probably next week for Afghanistan so please keep him in your thoughts. He's a single dad with a 3 yr old son so he's pretty torn about going. He wants to go, but doesn't want to leave his son.

Goodness - a 3 year old! We'll be praying

Goodness - lots of changes coming your way. You mentioned your DH being a pastor [I know he had been one at least] - is he interested in getting a church in CA, too?

I need to return my Kitchen Aid- the motor does not sound like it's working right. :confused3 Both my mom amd MIL said it was not right. When I shut it off, it makes kind of a grinding noise, almost like it's taking awhile for the motor to shut down. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right. Hope your DD gets better soon. Congrats on the fine baking - I don't even know what linzer tarts are [I've heard of them but they sounded fancy so I don't think I've ever looked up how to bake them]. But boo on your KA - you're right - it shouldn't be acting up like that - those things are made to last much longer than you will!

Well here it be whenever you want to start reading-
