HA! how 'bout that "earthly delight" triptych, huh? man...if i didn't have a place to put a bouquet of flowers, i'd probably use a toothbrush holder or something, but not this guy! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

the buy was born near amsterdam, so i guess he was smokin' pot. (i realize we're talking about 400 years ago, but that's all i can give ya.)

My DD had to take one of his paintings and recreate it (she had to use things like brown sugar, string, tissue paper, etc. {this was not a typical middle school art teacher, needless to say}) and it was almost impossible to find one of his paintings that did not scare the socks off of you for her to replicate. I still have the one she did, though, 10 years later. :)

HA! pretty funny...

that'd be like saying, "don't be nice to me, don't care about me, don't respect me...." it's absurd. people can only give what they have inside them to give. people who believe in God, have prayers to give. anybody who doesn't recognize that as special is just being unreasonable.

so since i don't have that to give, i offer my charm and wonderful sense of humor!!!! :teeth: seriously, i keep good thoughts for people and offer assistance whether or not it seems necessary, and i try to be a good person. that is what i have to offer. and baked goods. i offer cookies and muffins. whatever is in my power to offer, i offer it. just not in the form of higher taxes. (so many qualifiers here...sorry.)
I can offer baked goods but I'd have to offer you, depending on what our relationship is, one of two things:
1) antacid or
2) an antidote. :teeth:
I don't bake well. :rotfl:

As for radical Christians being as dangerous as radical muslims...Christians don't behead or blow up people. Or fly planes into buildings. :rolleyes1

Sorry to get off-topic here, but I am down to 2 weeks before my trip, and I still can't decide if I should get us all AP's, or just me (I have to in order to get the hotel rate). Decisions, decisions...:confused3

I want to get us all AP's, but don't know if financially that is a good move.

Will you all be taking another trip before it expires? How many nights are you all there for this trip? Sorry if you mentioned that before.

Speaking of cooking...does anyone have a creative use of ground beef? I have some I need to fix and I have heard "nay" on meatloaf, spaghetti sauce, tacos, and hamburgers. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Hmmm...goulash? HOw about shepherd's pie?

Do you know that I just realized you're from Tulsa? I went to Tulsa Memorial HS my freshman year of hs.

If it helps, I have an AP, so if you have questions, let me know and I'll do my best to help!!

I didn't know Wonder was an atheist. Does that matter?? No, of course not. I know many non-religious people (several atheists) and our religious differences do NOT get in the way of our friendships. I don't care what religion someone is- so long as they're a good, caring person with an equally good heart, that's good enough.:goodvibes I pray for non-believers, but then again, I pray for everyone and everything (even my aunt's cats and dogs).:hippie:

Hope that post sounds ok. I was just trying to express my views.

Agreed. I've been avoiding this conversation because I don't particularly care what people believe. It's not going to change what I do :goodvibes

i'll take the antidote...it's fun to try the baked goods at least.

regarding decorating dust's radical christian suggestion: there were those abortion clinic bombings...

Mix it with some onion soup mix and breadcrumbs (and an egg), roll into meatballs, cook on stovetop or in baking dish with chicken mushroom soup (as a gravy) and serve over egg noodles. My family LOVES this meal.

might be good as a faux stroganoff over noodles (said the vegetarian atheist).

i use a morning star farms soy-based imitation ground beef (sounds yummy, huh? :rotfl2: ) and mix it with the lawry's packet of stroganoff seasoning. delish.

I asked this before, so I apologize for boring you guys...but I just can't decide.

Here's the scoop:

I'm taking 3 of my 5 kids at the end of Jan. for 2 weeks. Older 2 kids are in college and high school sports...can't go. I was just going to get us 10-day hoppers, but my travel agent worked real hard to get me the AP rate for all 15 nights. So, I will have an AP.

My option is to get the other 3 kids AP's, or just get them the 10-day hoppers. The difference is about $200 each...or $600 total.

At this point, I don't have a scheduled trip in the works. But, my oldest says his college starts back later in Jan., so a mid-Jan. 2010 trip is a possibility (before these AP's would expire). I checked my miles, and we have enough miles for free tickets.

The clincher would be if there are seats available using those miles, and I can't find that out until March. So, I'd be taking gamble that we could get free miles. Then with the AP's already in hand, all we would need is hotel $$, which seems to be decent in Value season.

So...that's my dilemma. My heart tells me to get the AP's and go have a ball, and just hope things work out for 2010. But then again, I don't want to be financially foolish.

Argh! I hate making decisions.

wow!!!!! that sounds good. maybe i'll try a vegetarian version of that.

(vegetarian pre-made meatballs and mushroom soup without the chicken stock.)

I might have one of those mixes, so that is a possibility. I also think I have some sour cream. My DD is vegetarian and she keeps urging me to give up the meat. She even signed me up for the PETA cook book. Unfortunately, I like those darn sea kittens way too much to become a true vegetarian (although I probably could give up beef and pork pretty easily).

it is a lot extra for the FIRST trip, but if there is any possibility to go again, it's a money saving proposition. (i used a pass three times one year!!!)

another version of that stroganoff, without the soy-based product, is to make the sauce with plain non-fat yogurt and one block of tofu. you put all of the stuff in a blender, then heat it up for about 15 minutes to rehydrate the seasonings. i add a little oil for consistency.

morning star farms makes some good vegetarian stuff (fake bacon [i call it fakon], grillers prime [prime ONLY, not vegan or regular], that ground beef lookin' stuff, but some of the stuff is heinous too. if you/daughter decide to give it a try, i'll gladly provide an opinion for you prior to purchasing.

i forgot to mention...their hot dogs (they come frozen) taste like hot dogs. nothing else does.

I think I would go for it. Even if that specific trip did not work out as planned, there might be another option/time frame that would work, too.
