I haven't even gotten to the books yet-I'm getting scared enough just by reading the articles on the website! :scared1:

I wouldn't know- I've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show.:rotfl: It's my best friend Lisa's favorite movie though so I suppose I should borrow it from her and watch it.

it was funny...the whole theater would throw toast, flick lighters (for the "there's a light...over in the frankenstein place...." song). i can't remember it all now.

throw rice at the wedding scene, imitate the actions of the actors on screen-remember putting the newspaper over your head while you squirted waterguns in the air to make rain? :lmao:

there were lines that you said at certain points too.

Secondly....in order to gain the full appreciation and love for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you must attend a viewing in full dress, complete with your duffel bag of supplies. To watch the DVD in the solace of your home without the "FESTOONERY" of the atmosphere would not do anything but leave you wondering what was so spectacular about this film??

that's true. in fact, you'd probably get your first look at dr. frank-n-furter, and you'd probably run screaming towards the fireplace with the dvd. this will happen in the theater too, but it'll be difficult to climb out over all those other people with their magenta hair and toast tossing.

don't forget the hot dogs and decks of cards. :) One of my teachers in high school was mortified by the fact that her son always dressed up as Tim Curry's character every year. We had one annual showing at the community center where I grew up. We had a few hundred people show up, which, in a town of only one high school with about 800 students total...thats quite a bit.

that's right!!!! i forgot all the stuff....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

how funny about your teacher's son!!! man...that was one odd activity, huh?

we used to do this in college, and after the show, we'd go to this all night donut shop and have hot-out-of-the-fryer donuts with hot chocolate before going hom.

i wanna do it again. poor soarin's gonna think we're all a bunch of frightening heathens when she sees this movie!!!

Well, I was 18 at the time. I can plead "young and stupid"....;)

I never dressed up, but one of my friends ALWAYS did. It was just too funny. Of course, my parents were horrified when the found out what was really going on at that movie.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

hey...kids were doing MUCH worse stuff! participation in the RHPS activities was really innocent in comparison.

funny when you see tim curry now...i keep looking at him thinking, "did he REALLY wear THAT then?!?!?"

and when i hear meatloaf or see him in that cell phone commercial...well...ya know, i'm not thinkin' of dinner. :scared1:

no kidding, I hade about 15 pages to catch up on from last night...that...um...story...thing...had me cracking up all morning here at my office. Good thing nobody else in my dept comes in at 5am, otherwise they'd have thought I had lost it. :lmao:

well i still think cacti are filled with balloons.:lmao:

From the Associated Press:

hi bicker. that was interesting. thanks for posting it.

frankly, i think that if, with a year's notice, people still haven't managed to figure out the digital thing, they should switch on a radio instead of t.v.

like t.v. is the most important thing anybody needs to consider right now. tsk.

I hope your DS loves his new car! How warm is it today? I was hearing that middle Alaska is now down to -60. Is that true? Holy cow that's cold. Can you even go outside in that weather?

It was -26 when I left the house this morning, and -31 by the time we got to the high school. I dropped my son off early...the basketball team is flying to Kodiak, Alaska to play. -20's I can be out in, for awhile. -30 and colder is really too cold to do anything outside, and stuff starts breaking (like plumbing, cars, etc.) This is not usual even for here. People who've lived here 20+ years are saying it is the longest lasting cold snap they remember. We've had colder (-43 was the record at our house) but it only lasted a couple of days, and that was 10 years ago.

On the way home, I saw a clear view of Mt. McKinley, in Denali. So I stopped to get a picture. We also saw 7 moose on the way in.

On a clear day, I can see it from just down the street ("I can see McKinley from my house.") Does that sound like SP? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wellll, there is all that global warming....hehehe

Beautiful pic!!!

I don't get the Burris thing. They are saying that a Senator has never been seated without the Sec of State signing the appointment, but now the IL SC has said White doesn't have to sign it.:confused3

the way i figure, illinois isn't another state. it is another planet.

Okay, I really needed the duct tape today listening to Glenn's show. It seems that there is a small town in Alabama with a population of 194 people of which almost 29% live below the poverty line(this is a similar poverty rate to Nepal). The town wants its share of the stimulus package to the tune of $375 million or about $2 million per resident!::scared1:

This will be spent on "green" technology like:
  1. Solar powered street lights:headache:
  2. Solar panels for city hall
  3. Recharging stations for electric cars and golf carts so residents can recharge their electric vehicles:rolleyes:
  4. $54.4 million will go for water pipelines beneath the roads to soak up the sun's rays and transfer the heat. This technology is currently being tried out in the Netherlands, which found that while the cost of installation was double that of normal gas heating, the system half the amount of energy required.:scared:

The mayor was quoted as saying "Do you know how hard it is to fund some of these projects when your tax base is so low?" So he jumped at the stimulus since their will be an emphasis on green tech and renewable energy.

Here is the link to the story from Glenn:

I swear that common sense is dead!

:sad2:

makes ya wonder how they managed to get sucked so far down into the pit of yesterhood, yet still managed to keep a city going at all.

Well, I was 18 at the time. I can plead "young and stupid"....;)
I was 13 when I first saw it. I watched it about a year ago. It's been 15 years.."It was great when it all began...I was a REGULAR Frankie fan!" :happytv:

i wanna do it again. poor soarin's gonna think we're all a bunch of frightening heathens when she sees this movie!!!
I'll join ya! ;)
Oh, I don't know about Soarin'. But I'll bet some of the libbies are surprised we all love this movie. :lmao:

Here's the audience participation guide.

Did you guys know they're remaking it? :headache:
