Psssst. Safeway delivers.

How's it going, guys? Looks like I'm getting on just as half or more of you are going to bed. Ahhhh, what else is new? I was a good girl and forced myself to do my Christmas cards this afternoon/evening. They are all done, and if I'm lucky I can get out to mail them tomorrow and they should all still get there before Christmas!

Good for you -- I decided that, oh, the 19th might be as good a time as any to mail those packages - they'd at least get to their destination by Valentine's Day!

How's your headache?

Well, I had a WONDERFUL time tonight!!! "The Christmas Sweater" was absolutely amazing..... I laughed, I cried, I was blown away!!!! I am so thankful that they put it in theatres so those of us who couldn't go to a show could at least see it. I'm going to go into more detail tomorrow (so Humphrey Bear better get on for sure to see it!) but I'm rather sleepy tonight.... we just got back.

I am so happy you had a good time - and it was as wonderful as you wanted it to be. And we do want a full report ASAP - we'd hate to deduct points off of your Glenn Beck report for tardiness....

:rotfl2:

Soarin, glad you had fun. Looking forward to reading your report. :goodvibes

I'm about to call it a night myself folks. Up late watching the Charlie Brown and Muppets Christmas specials we taped tonight and yesterday. Muppets special on NBC was cute, but I miss the old, 70-early 90s Muppets. Of course, that was when Jim Henson was still with us. I miss him dearly. Such a talented, gifted man. :sad2:

Well, my head is doing fine tonight, because I was busy all day and didn't spend much time on the computer. :rolleyes1

Michelle,

Glad you're feeling better.

Not to be bah-humbuggy, but I decided not to send out Christmas cards this year. This is the first year I just haven't sent out any. (One year I did send them as Valentine's Day cards with a family newsletter instead!) I was just feeling too rushed with all the kids' activities lately, and decided to not stress out this holiday season. I have, however, made Christmas cookies with my daughter, and we're making gingerbread houses this weekend.

We're also only doing gifts for our kids, and DH and I with each other.

Hey...guess what I did today? I got my hair done at a salon. I got highlights done. I've never had anything other than a cut or a perm done, and the lady there was so excited to do something fun with my hair. She did a great job, and gave me a great deal. I was there for 2-1/2 hours! My DD thinks it looks good, so if it gets her approval, that's a good thing! It was fun.

Unfortunately, the closest Safeway is in Lynden which is pretty far from here (a good 20 miles or so, give or take), so I don't think they deliver in town. But it's a good thought! :thumbsup2

Check the website. They just might. It seems to me that it is a 25 mile radius. Might kill ya with the delivery charge, though. I couldn't find the delivery charges. Free with a $200 order, but I doubt you need quite THAT many groceries. :lmao:

Michelle,

Glad you're feeling better.

I don't blame you for not doing Christmas cards. The main reason I do them is because otherwise I don't remember to send my kids' school pictures out. I send them with the Christmas cards, and always remember to dig up a NON Christmas card so my sister (who is Jehovah's Witness) gets school pics too. It does get really overwhelming this time of year. Today would have been a really busy day for us, with school, Girl Scouts and my son's first Christmas program...but school was canceled due to weather. :sad2: My son was so sad about his Gingerbread Review.

And woooooo, a salon appointment! How luxurious! I'm sure you look wonderful.

So how did they put it in the theater? I'm curious to know. Was it glen on stage reciting the story or was he in the studio recording the audio book?

It sounds like a story that should be a Hallmark movie. I hope someone makes a movie out of it.

OK so I totally cried last night at Glenn's show...it is playing at theatres again tonight so if you missed it....I highly recommend going to see it tonight. Yes, I cried...alot. The whole audience did. Especially at the very end, all you could hear through out the theatre were sniffles. Man, that has to be one emotionally exhausting show to put on. I just wanted to give him a huge hug at the end of the show.

I came into work at 5am this morning, gotta leave early. DH goes before the board today for an AGR slot on base. I've been praying relentlessly for weeks in the hopes that he gets it. We need it SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. He's applied for so many civilian jobs, and hasn't gotten a single interview in 3 months, even for the jobs where they specifically wanted someone with military background, and law enforcement....he's a police officer in the military-how much more perfect of a fit do they want??:confused3 This would be the BEST Christmas present we could receive this year.

I'll have to share it when I get home, but DH decided to play with Jacob and the camera yesterday and took the cutest picture of him...He's still so tiny he fits inside our stockings, so that is where he put him:rotfl: Jacob seemed to actually like it. Guess he was digging the soft furry feeling of it. He cried when he took him out. haha!

oh...He put on a HUGE stage show with lighting, sound, orchestra, etc. It was broadcast in HD live to the 400 or so theatres simultaneously, so we were just another audience member, but with a much closer view :)

I don't know that any movie would do it justice like Glenn did. It really needs him. This was a real stretch for him, as it is nothing like his previous shows and tours. He had to really pull alot of his emotions out and bare his soul for this show. I seriously don't know how he did it for so many shows. He looks just emotionally and physically spent by the end of the show. This had to have taken such a toll on him, but I think it was pretty therapeutic for him at the same time. You will have a totally different appreciation for his talents after you see this.

*waiting for HR to call me telling me the board DID approve my recall!* I hate waiting! Waiting makes me late for school. I am not a "late for school/work" person! I couldn't find anything on the news about recalls due to the fact they were also talking about school building closings for next year at the board meeting last night. It wouldn't have mattered if I had gone to the meeting as this was done during closed session. UGH! callcallcall with good news!

Good luck to your dh, JB!

I can't wait to see the pictures of Jacob. I bet that made the cutest picture!

Glenn has said that he has offers to turn it into a movie. He is worried that once Hollywood gets a hold of it it will change into something it is not, like having the slutty half naked Aunt who has a drug habit making passes at the kid who is the main character.

I saw him do it live and I don't think that there was a dry eye in the house.

What did you think of the singer? I'm just wondering how her voice was watching on a screen because she was amazing in person.

I totally wish I could go see the Christmas Sweater, but the closest theatre showing it is in Seattle, 80 miles away and I can't even get out of my driveway...:lmao: Maybe next year. Whoever keeps ordering up snow here better knock it off!

Another day, another round of Christian bashing. Yikes, I've never seen so many people sitting ready at the keyboard to leap into a thread and post their hatred for Christians!

Sorry, Zip, I should have kept my nose out of it. I only fed them.

Well, let me preface my post by saying that, I am a singer. I have been trained and have been performing since I was 5, so I'm probably far more critical than the average viewer.

I thought she looked beautiful, and had fantastic stage presence. She complimented Glenn wonderfully, and she has a brilliant voice. The only thing that I didn't care alot for was some of the long drawn out vocal runs that she did from time to time. I prefer keeping things (traditional songs at least) very close to original melody and not "fixing something that isn't broken". I have the same issues with people messing with the Star Spangled Banner. I think keeping it a little more on the simple side would have been better, especially for "until we meet again" and "oh child why do you run", two of the most poignant moments in the show.

I hope he puts this out on DVD like he has done his past shows. It will be well worth the 20 bucks.

While I do not have a trained ear, I have to say that I agree with you. I loved her voice and it really filled the theater but would have rather had her not 'draw out her vocal runs' as you say. It was as if she felt her need to put her stamp on songs that were good to begin with.

I hope he puts this out on DVD like he has done his past shows. It will be well worth the 20 bucks.

That would be very cool! Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

We actually preordered ours at the live show. They had a table set up. I have no clue as to when they will be on sale though. It was $25.00 to preorder, but they are a numbered edition. I bet when they go on sale they will be a little cheaper, but they caught us in the mood to buy it that night!

:goodvibes

Soarin, that is so cool you got to see Christmas Sweater. I love Glenn Beck! Blest, I have gotten very few Christmas cards this year, I think a lot of people aren't sending them anymore. It gets so time consuming and expensive. Heck, at .42 per card to just mail it, that's some serious money right there. I went ahead and sent them, but only to people that really matter. And I got very lovely, very religious, Christmas cards. I am sure my one friend delivered a great big eye roll my way since she finds religious cards at Christmas annoying. I may never know, she hasn't spoken to me since before the election when she walked by my house and saw my McCain sign. :rolleyes1

Well today is the day I am going to get something done around here! So if I check back before 4:00 p.m. MST, please tell me to get busy!

Have a great day everybody!:goodvibes :santa:

P.S. Humphrey Bear, thank you for posting that link. It was beautiful.
