I have enough "frequent fryer" points to fund my next flight to WDW......First Class!

Kind of sad really, considering I have never called anyone out personally.

Uh, now the whole sarcasm thing? Guilty as charged.

:)

i think use of sarcasm should cause the points to decrement. all in favor of sarcasm, SAY AYE!!!!

Hi guys
thanks for the continued prayers. I don't go back to the DR until Thursday.
I'm still having weird symptoms, but am teffified that the DR will think it's all in my head,
I've been busy. I made those rolo pretzel thingies and the M&M ones.
I also baked 2 batches of brownies,
At the same time, I made a doubale batch ot beef stew and a doubale batch of chicken soup with rice and also a big pork chop dinner.
If anyone is local we are having a HUGE sale at DISNEY
All t-shirts, coffee mugs, beach towels and baseball caps are 40% off
Christmas ornaments and hats and tree skirts are 50% off
We were a little busy at work today because of the sale
Oh and we are having great weather here
We have all the windows in the house open and the fresh air feels awesome
Hope all is well
SD continued prayers

all good thoughts for you.

I was talking to a friend from Massachusetts who said that some people are annoyed by the Caroline Kennedy senate run because she is obviously using her family connections and they can't believe people even try to deny that. I guess the word is that Uncle Teddy made a deal with Obama. Also, she has made it a point to always go by her married name, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, but will now drop that and just use Kennedy. If she is appointed, and then re-elected in 2010, well then so be it. But it really is silly for people to pretend that her family connections aren't playing a big role in all of this.

it is also silly to pretend she'd get that seat if she had to run for it. tsk.

honorary chairperson of the American Ballet Theater".[/I]

Yeah, that oughta do it..... hehe

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

was she really honorary chairperson of the ABT? 'cause seriously, you'd hope she'd have picked up a little grace. she walks like a zombie.

Here here! I am strongly in favor of well done sarcasm. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing when done by professionals. However the entire internet discussion universe is populated by too many amateurs. I'm not such an admirer if their clumsy work.

Fine Sarcasm, is like a fine wine....

A cool-aide drinker does not have the palette for a fine wine....;)

Ooo.... Obama picks a Chicago insider for Sec Of Ed.
I know, I'm shocked I tell you! SHOCKED!:scared1:

Good morning! ...and a hearty "Welcome Back" to all those recently returned from the World. :wizard:

Gosh my life seems awful busy these last couple of weeks. Really cuts into my DISing, KWIM? ;) I'm all doen Christmas shopping, except for picking up some stuff for DW's stocking.

I have a little vent/question... As I mentioned before I'm going to Orlando for a Creative Ministry Workshop the first week of January. The event includes some small-group time with some high-up creative types from WDW, who also happen to use their creative gifts in Christian ministry. I'll get some behind the scenes peeks at MK and Epcot, and -I hope -some surprises. Sadly, we just could not work it out for DW to go with me because our kids could not miss a week of school, yet DW was very encouraging on me going.

Last week I mentioned the workshop to my best friend (DW calls him my "BFF" ) who is also a colleague of mine. No invitation, no encouragement -I just mentioned where and why I would be away in the context doing some scheduling for January. Anyhow, Sunday my friend tells me that he's going too! And that we can share a room! And that he can get the same flights as me! Not knowing what to say I just said "Great!"... but on the inside I was saying "Crap!"

You see, since DW could not go I was looking forward to being by myself, other than when with the workshop participants. This is just not cool to have four days in FL with my best friend; I want to go with my DW! She's not giving me any grief about it, but I know she must be jealous as can be.

Anyhow, I am secretly hoping that my friend's plans fall through. Is that eveil of me? I know he decided to do this mostly to hang out with me. He doesn't even "get" Disney, so I (selfishly, I admit) don't want to spend my time in the parks explaining stuff.

If anyone actually read this, kudos to you. It wound up being longer than I planned, but it feels good to write it.

Zip, I feel almost in the same predicament -- I'm going for the first time this January with good friends who are excited about going but have not been converted to the true Disney obsession that I have since being introduced to these boards. So, I don't really think about this as my first time - I'll be saying things like 'hey, where's the orange smell on Soarin'?' and embarrassing my peeps to death.

Another problem is that at least one is not as hip into the planning aspect of the trip - he just wants to fly by the seat so to speak - and who am I to tell him otherwise? :teeth: So I'm happy to let him 'fly' but me - I'm going full tilt all the way, with my planned schedule. And I do plan, if no one else goes with me, to be that single rider in the Dumbo line. I  Dumbo, even though I've never been to WDW!

Yet another problem is just how fond I am of my con thread buds. And blestmom [Debbie #3], mrsdon [Debbie #4], and Soarin and now you will be at WDW the same time I will be. I probably won't get to bug Soarin and Mrsdon as much as I'd like, being that they will be working but blestmom and her kids better watch out! You'll be able to spot them pretty easily - they'll be the ones who are hiding behind anything they can find to avoid me and I'll be the one yelling, 'DDDDEEEEEEBBBBBBIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE, where are you? Don't you want to go on Expedition Everest again? You're not avoiding me, are you?!?!?!?' :teeth:

And, now, I'll know to look for the single rider 40something at the Haunted Mansion - ZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPP, is that you?!?!?!?!?!?!?

My friends and I will have 'the talk' before our trip -- the talk that says that, since we all paid dearly to go on this trip, we can experience Disney however we wish. If those experiences don't collide, so be it - if they don't want to go commando with me, that's fine but don't tread on me, suckas!

So all that to say, I don't blame you for being disappointed - a best friend can be a poophead, too. Maybe y'all can have 'the talk' as a warning beforehand - so, if he does decide to go, he'll know that when you say Disney, you mean Disney. It could either scare him away or, like Breezy so sweetly pointed out, change his whole perspective.

Debbie, you can bug me all you want when I'm not working! :teeth: I'll be giving you guys my cell number so call me and we could work something out while you're there. But I'm still expecting you to buy food from me. :rotfl:

Disagree. Sarcasm is an ugly trait. Makes me not want to listen anymore.

The problem with sarcasm and me is that it flies right over my head. For instance, I'm not sure, Charade, if you're being sarcastic - you've had enough run-ins with folks on the CB to make that a true statement. Then again, I've seen your sense of humor [noted by example in your siggie] and you're pretty hilarious - sarcastic or not.

I am a member of the 'others' living outside of the Seinfeld world....but I love peeping in when the experts engage in such repartee. And thankful that a slow-witted clod like me can be allowed near the window.

Oh, that's awesome. You get to see Glenn Beck AND you're going to Disney World all in the same week. You rock!!

That's it. I'm jealous. Totally jealous. Going to go pout now.

Honestly, I hope you all do find each other and have a great time. Make sure you take plenty of pictures!!!

Okay, since we are talking about hair now (red sounds cute Tink), my scalp is so dry that it hurts. I guess I could post this on the CB, but I'm guessing I need to change my shampoo. Any suggestions? I've never had this problem before and it's not just my scalp, but my whole body is dry skin, but at least I can put lotion on that, (well, I guess I could shave my head, but who wants to see that?)

I just got some shampoo with Tea Tree Oil in it because of the same problem. My hairdresser recommended it. We'll see..

This sweet little Southern belle livin' below the Mason-Dixon is nice and cozy while the 20 something degree winds blow around her -- we're hearing sleet and are wondering if the schools will open tomorrow. They closed early today due the *threat* of sleet -- gotta love that Southern 'wintry mix.'

DD's school didn't get out early yesterday, but they were out today and will be tomorrow. I heard both bridges to Mphs were shut down last night, but I wasn't sure if it was ice or wrecks. It's pretty icy here so I'm hitching rides since DH is working in Mphs. I refuse to drive in it since I landed in a ditch years ago.

Exams went well, I think. I had my psychology one today, so I'm done!

  I'm happy for you.

Tests told them zip other than they needed to do more tests. They could only be used to rule out cysts, and what they're looking into turned out not to be that (which is what her DR had told her anyway, that it wasn't one, but she thought she was okay anyway). They found something else though that they want to test too. Biopsies are next week. I am praying hard, but trying not to worry too much right now. Won't even know anything until sometime after Christmas because they require everyone, no matter what the results are, to come in for an appointment that they won't even make until whenever the results come back (which should be after Christmas). This is because all but one doctor has, as of Monday of last week, gone on vacation for the remainder of the year. So, some people are having to wait a month or more just to have the testing done. That is a complete joke, IMO. No places of employment I know allow all of their main employees but one to take almost an entire month off at the same time, and they're not dealing with health issues!

And this is a hospital branch site we're talking about, not just a doctor's office. :sad2:

That's ridiculous.

My father sent this to me. Thought you guys might get a kick out of it, if you haven't already seen it.

Good Morning All!

I had to laugh about the practical presents. My poor DH got all kinds of grief from friends the year he bought me my Dyson. But it was what I asked for! I LOVE that thing. One year I got a Kitchen Aid mixer, and I nearly always give him a list of the new and exciting kitchen gadgets I've seen and would love to own. Hey, I buy him power tools, why are kitchen "tools" a bad thing? :confused3

I love my Dyson!!!

I've thought it could be fun going by myself sometime. I hope if he goes, though, you'll have fun and he'll learn to love it, too.

And I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!

It's in Mphs??? I bet I cannot get off early enough to go. I wish I could, but we have internal auditors in and they are wrapping up this week. We're running around like crazy so they can be done by Thursday afternoon. They are from Montreal and disappointed the weather is so yucky. We told them to just wait, the temps are supposed to be up to 60 Thursday.

Wow. Some of those other threads are just frustrating. I shouldn't even read them, but I do.

And, I started reading "The Shack" last night. I made it about halfway through. WOW!!!!! It is hard to put down.
