That'll teach me to post while the bread rises!!! The timer goes off and I forget where I am. :lmao:

Did anyone read about Sarah Palin's Church! Our Pastor said this morning that it was set on fire!

i heard arson was suspected. very sad. no respect, i tell ya.

I'm praying that it was an accident and not arson. I would hate to know there were people out there hate her so much for no reason at all other than she is on "the other side."

We're spending Christmas eve and Christmas day with my sister and her family. She married a Catholic and converted, which was the cause of some tension in the family early on, but I have to say things have gotten a lot better. My parents were REALLY against it at first, even though they really liked her DH, but now we even all go to their Church for Midnight Mass together now that her kids are old enough to go. It's really a beautiful service, even though we can't take communion there or anything like that.
Then, on Christmas we go to DH's brother's house and see his parents there and his nieces and nephews. It's really fun-we get to play with all the kids toys!!!

BTW-I didn't mean to offend anyone here by talking up Christianity so much-but it's so normal to me. I've never met any atheists, not even too many non-Christians. DH and I both went to Bible Colleges, so everyone believed the way we did and all of our friends are from Church. Most of our families are Christian and very involved in Church. My sister's kids go to Catholic school and she's very involved there and DH's brother's wife homeschools their kids and they're very involved in their Church too. Both sets of parents are too-DH's dad is a Deacon, and both my parents teach Sunday School. Shoot, I didn't even KNOW there were Conservatives that weren't Christian!! Forgive my ignorance, I'll try and tone it down.
We Catholics aren't all that bad. ;)

I LOVE Midnight Mass - it's my favorite Mass of the year. My kids are a little too young for it now, so we'll continue going to the Children's Mass for a few more years, but then we'll transition to Midnight Mass. There's nothing like celebrating Christmas just when the day begins.

Before I was married and still living at home, we'd go to Midnight Mass after we had family over and a huge dinner! My mom sang in the choir, so she had to leave at 10:00 and then we'd head on over at about 11:00 so we could get a seat. Caroling started at 11:30 and then the church lights would dim and Mass would begin at 12:00. It was wonderful. We'd then have a silent ride back to the house where we'd take a detour and look at the Christmas lights and displays in our neighborhood while listening to Christmas songs on the radio. I loved it!!

I remember my mom getting irritated with us when we'd joke with her about "what time is Midnight Mass?" The rectory would get calls all day about it - seriously - probably because our caroling started at 11:30. :rotfl:

i agree! there is something about cinnamon translates to "winter" and "holiday" to me. num yummy!
Hmmm - maybe I'll make some of these tomorrow. Sounds wonderful!

Tell him we don't need anymore pictures!
Yeah, what she said! :)

I've been sewing for most of the day and I feel like I'm not getting much work done. My hands hurt!

As for the shoe incident - I have no words, other than Bush ducked pretty well. I didn't hear his comments though, anyone have a link to that?

i saw him interviewed after the incident, but i don't see a link to that. fox is showing it in the news though. he said that of all the freaky things that have happened to him while holding office, this was at the top of the list.

Hey everyone.:wave2: I feel like I haven't visited here in days. I've been really busy trying to get stuff done for Christmas.

Blestmom, your ballerina daughter is beautiful! And JB, oh my goodness, what a head of hair Jacob has. How cute!!! Your quilts are so amazing. I'm in awe of everything you do. I thought I did alot, but I don't have an infant to take care of like you do.

I've been busy doing a digital Disney album for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I also made her a calendar from some of the pics. I did the album in a 5x7 format, as I thought it would be easier for her to show and store, and it wasn't as costly.

I just got a new TV and it's great so far (for the last 4 hours :lmao: - not exactly a marthon amount of time). It's a 32" Sharp that I found at Walmart for $398. So cool!

I only saw the clip on youtube of the shoe incident. I'm curious, has anyone heard what will happen to the thrower?

Here's the link for those who want to take a look. It's the top album, titled Sam & David at Disney.

well, he's a journalist (so i presume he was being theatrical) and, since it is a new world in iraq, i presume he won't be shot at dawn.

maybe he'll be sentenced to an apprenticeship at a cobbler's shop.

I'm still waiting for a crackpot 'journalist' to blame SP for it - like, 'if she hadn't been so conservative,' 'if she hadn't run for VP,' 'if she hadn't given birth to Trig,' her church would not have burnt down.....ya know, kind of like when her yahoo account was broken into and the MSM said that it was her fault for having a yahoo account in the first place...and kind of like the MSM saying that they didn't know why SP was so mean to that poor widdle trooper

and these, of course, are the same 'journalists' who tell us that H has nothing to do with Brago...

Seriously though, I hope he at least serves some prison time for this.

hey wardfamily 1...where's that trip report? anything exceptional or unusual?

I hadn't planned on doing a trip report. I'll just say I wouldn't recommend POP, well, maybe to the OS. ;)

mkingdomlvr...I live in Wasilla, Alaska. I have lots of friends who attend that church. It is very sad.

I'm praying that it was an accident and not arson. I would hate to know there were people out there hate her so much for no reason at all other than she is on "the other side."

They are treating it as arson. There were five women, and possibly a couple of children, inside when it happened. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

I hope maybe whatever you experienced was an isolated incident(s). I'm staying at POP for the first time in Jan./Feb. for 16 days, so a value is all I can afford. It was hard to find a value hotel using the AP rate, so I'm not able to switch.

I stayed at POP in September and didn't have any problems there at all. In fact, we really enjoyed it. Well, except for the little snot nosed kids drinking all the slurpees and the machines going down just about everyday, but other than that, we had a really good time.

We love POP! I'm sure your trip will be fine.:goodvibes
