Conservative Thread: We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once

Okay, since we are talking about hair now (red sounds cute Tink), my scalp is so dry that it hurts. I guess I could post this on the CB, but I'm guessing I need to change my shampoo. Any suggestions? I've never had this problem before and it's not just my scalp, but my whole body is dry skin, but at least I can put lotion on that, (well, I guess I could shave my head, but who wants to see that?)

Oh my! What kind of shampoo do you use? Maybe you should try baby shampoo for awhile? I also don't wash my hair every day or it dries out too much. That might help too. I have really dry/sensitive skin. I can use Aussie products without any trouble, am currently using Joico products (because I have a perm) and also like Shikai products.

Tink with red hair - you go girl! It is funny - except for the cons whose pictures have been posted, I generally think of y'all as looking like your screen name. So, to me, Tink is Tinkerbell, Wonderlanne is Alice, SD is a girl Donald [I'm still working out the blond hair on a Donald]. Also avatars are involved -- Soarin', although I know she's a girl, looks like Nathaniel Parker in my mind.

Get some sleep tonight, Tink so you can be up early tomorrow morning and have a wonderful time! We'll miss you! Post pictures please....
Yeah, we're still packing. :rolleyes1

The thing is, I usually am a bottle blonde, I have light blue eyes, I have an hourglass figure, I have big...assets, and I'm short so I do usually resemble Tink.

If I thought of everyone looking like their avatars, Breezy would be a bag of jelly beans, Mr Man would be baloo, Soarin' resembles Nathaniel Parker, and I know you can't look like your avatar, right? :lmao:

I love red hair! We have natural redheads in my family, but I'm not one of them. I use henna sometimes to go red. I prefer henna because it washes out over time and you don't have to keep dyeing.
I'll pretend I didn't hear you were born in DE.
We don't have any natural redheads in my family. My hair is a dark red, like aubergine or dark auburn, maybe. It's not Ariel red.

Do you use those deep conditioners?

How often do you wash your hair? My hairdresser told me only to wash my hair once a week. I couldn't do that [mine is pretty oily] but I did stop washing it as much - every other day or every third day.

For my singleton con buds - I thought this was cool [from LaShawn Barber] -

[though I don't consider myself middle-aged [and LaShawn Barber and I are the same age!] and I'm not black]

So, Why Aren’t You Married Yet?

Are you talking to me?

Uh…well…what had happened was, you see:

* I haven’t met The One;

* A middle-aged, politically conservative, Bible-believing Christian black woman is going to have a hard time meeting an available and compatible male counterpart no matter where she lives;

And most important:

* While I don’t feel “called” to singleness, nor do I consider singleness a gift as some Christians do, I trust God and I’m certain — certain — my Father in Heaven “who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all” will not withhold from me that which is good. If he is glorified in my singleness, and it serves his purposes and is a testimony to his awesome grace and unbounded mercy, it is good. :)

How cute is that!

Me too about the economy....all this Christmas shopping has been wearing me out....I know it'll get especially grueling when I start shopping for other people besides me! ;)

And Disneyshopping was especially horrendous - I now possess a Tshirt for every day that I'll be at WDW [4 bucks a pop!]. Not only that, my fellow traveling peeps are getting a bunch of Ts, whether they want them or not.

I have natural auburn hair, but it has to be enhanced to get past the gray part!

*throws the other hockey skate at tink*

We call southerners "hockey impaired!"

Actually, I spent most of a Dallas Stars/Kings game at Dr. Pepper Arena explaining offsides and icing to the four guys in front of us. yep, hockey impaired fits. LOL

12 midnight, its 15. 24 hours ago it was 49 and 24 before that I think it was in the twenties. Weird weather!

Waving to the lurkers...I think some of you need a hug!

How is everyone tonight? I'm so happy. The library called. I had reserved The Christmas Sweater awhile ago, and it was ready for me to pick it up. I can't wait to read it!
Awesome! I will pass that along to them. :thumbsup2 Thanks!

My mother is a natural redhead, but my dad has black hair. My hair is medium brown with red highlights. :goodvibes

I did some shopping for myself yesterday. My husband used to work for a GM dealership and he had reward points leftover. They kept sending him letters and he kept saying he didn't have any points and didn't know what they were talking about. They sent another letter that gave a specific number of points he needed to use, so I......creatively figured out how to get into his account. :rolleyes1 When he got online before work I told him I was on his account and the points were there so he told me to spend them. :cool1:

I have this coming:

Also another MP3 player (so my oldtime radio mysteries can be on their own) and a messenger bag style laptop carrier. It was fun. They won't be here in time for Christmas but I guess I could wrap up the confirmation. :lmao:

Hey -- did you finish your exams? How did you do?

And, now I can't think of you looking like Sarah Palin anymore - you've changed your avvie to what? Is that a chipmunk? And I tried to change my avvie but SP's pic was too large. How did you do that?

There was a discussion on the notion of it being racist, inappropriate, or somehow otherwise offensive to refer to Obama as "H", even though it is just as much his initial as "W" is GWBs. Hilarie said she didn't find her initial offensive, and didnt' mind being called "H." It's a bit of a joke on the OS I guess. ;)

Yep. That's pretty much it. I'm just being a smarty pants. :thumbsup2

Now the MSM is telling us that H is young and inexperienced...

President-elect Barack Obama, relatively young and inexperienced, is facing a rapidly growing list of monumental challenges as he prepares to take the reins of a nation in turmoil.

He spoke during a week in which Congress killed a bailout of the failing auto industry, the government reported that jobless claims spiked to their highest levels in more than a quarter-century, and the Treasury Department said the nation registered a record federal budget deficit for November.

With woes foreign and domestic on more fronts than even Franklin Delano Roosevelt encountered when he took office in the midst of the Great Depression, Obama will be sworn in as the country's 44th president in January.

At the same time, Obama may be drawn into an unfolding political scandal over Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's alleged efforts to trade the president-elect's former Senate seat for personal gain. The ongoing federal investigation could ensnare some of his top advisers and taint the self-styled reformer who has tried to steer clear of notorious Chicago politics.

By the way, isn't history a required course for journalism majors?

Where is everyone today? You guys go and get a life, or what? How am I supposed to procrastinate on folding my laundry if you all won't hang out and chat with me?

I've been so super busy. Three "Cs" have been keeping me hopping; Christmas, cleaning, and cheerleading. I was on the run all darn day!

That is a great price, and I need new bowls, let alone who can't use anotherr casserole pan! I love the Donald ornament Wonderanne posted, too. He's sooooo cute! I'm findinig lots of things to buy through your (pl) links!

I almost asked my father for decent mixing and storage bowls for Christmas. I called him back and said, DON'T! I'll end up hating myself afterwards for asking for only practical at my age! LOL

Hey there! Yup, exams are over. I think I did ok. I'm still recovering. I didn't realize just how stressed out I've been, lately. Oh, and Me...look like Sarah Palin?? I can only dream, lol. Ok, I'm changing my avatar back to Christmas Sarah :rotfl: I was worried that some might think I was making fun of her (which I was not). Actually, it was supposed to be a gift to the OS who cannot seem to get enough of her ;) . To do it, I resized the heck out of it in photobucket. It was kind of a pain because I kept having to make it smaller and smaller because it wouldn't work. There's gotta be an easier way for a girl to make an avatar. I think my new avatar is a guinea pig? I just thought it was cute.
