Hi there and welcome...I am the Fiscal conservative that is saddened to say that I am a Democrat that hangs in here with my conservative friends and not the liberals...make sense...probably not :lmao:

But what in this whole election has :confused3 :rotfl:
Robin, I guess if you are the token Dem, I am the token Independent. :lmao: For me, fiscal conservatism is the most important thing that needs to be re-injected into the mindset of this country. I think less government is better government and I don't see any libs pushing that.

So, I talked to the endo. We're going to Houston!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

 :dance3: :cheer2:  :dance3: :cheer2:

I got a dozen pink roses, a Mickey Mouse card, and Tink denim tote bag. :thumbsup2

Yay for Tink....

on my Valentine's Day I went to our oldest cemetery for a tour -- the guide told stories about the romantic lives of our city's founders...I figured that visiting a cemetery on Valentine's Day was a fitting commentary of my love life :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about going. I'm ready to get this tumor the heck out of dodge!

Hi there, any room for a newbie? I have no idea how I missed this thread before. :confused3 But, it's so nice to see some fellow conservatives on the board.

Welcome! We're a great bunch...[a bunch of what, I'm not sure - there are probably differing views on that subject].

Get ready to bend over folks here it comes!!! He's got his spendulous through and now we're gonna get it. Who wants to take a guess as to whether spending will be cut or taxes will be increased??:sad2:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,493124,00.html

With a $787 billion stimulus package in hand, President Barack Obama will pivot quickly to address a budget deficit that could now approach $2 trillion this year.

He has scheduled a "fiscal-responsibility summit" on Feb. 23 and will unveil a budget blueprint three days later, crafted to put pressure on politicians to address the country's surging long-term debt crisis.

Speaking Friday to business leaders at the White House, the president defended the surge of spending in the stimulus plan, but he made sure to add: "It's important for us to think in the midterm and long term. And over that midterm and long term, we're going to have to have fiscal discipline. We are not going to be able to perpetually finance the levels of debt that the federal government is currently carrying."

Along those lines, White House budget director Peter R. Orszag has committed to instituting tougher budget-discipline rules -- once the economy turns around. Those include a mandate that any "nonemergency" spending increases be offset by equal spending cuts or tax increases.
Officials say the budget blueprint to be released this month will also attempt to make public the full extent of the dire fiscal situation, by not repeating some of the accounting used in crafting President George W. Bush's budgets.

Recent budget blueprints excluded from deficit projections the long-term costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those budgets also didn't include the cost of preventing the alternative minimum tax -- instituted in 1969 to ensure the rich didn't escape taxation -- from hitting the middle class.

Tina

Tsk, tsk, Tina - you know that LTEC Hussein promised no tax increases on 95% of the population - and he ALWAYS keeps his promises, right?!?!

And it's our patriotic duty to pay taxes, right??!?!?!!? Especially those for projects we have no idea about, right?!?!?!?

:sad2:

Thanks! I'm heading to San Antonio for 3 nights on March 19th, we're going to see the Alamo and the River Walk, then we're headed to Houston. We're going to see NASA on March 23. Appointment with the surgical crew on the 24th, then surgery on the 25th. Then fly home sometime 7-10 days later. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It's going to be exciting!!!!!!!!! I'm ready.

The funny thing, is I guess my goalie training is catching up with me. I'm excited, but I know I have the "2nd and 3rd period" still to go, so I'm really focused on what I need to do next.

Crap, the next month is going to be the longest month on earth!!!!!!

Good for you, honugirl! I pray it all goes well.

You'll enjoy San Antonio. I was there when my dh graduated from Basic Training at Lackland AFB 15 years ago. The Riverwalk is lovely. I barely remember the Alamo (poor Davey Crockett is turning in his grave right now) but I do recall being disappointed that it was in the middle of a very urban downtown and not in the Texas desert. :rotfl: It wasn't anything like I expected. I guess I thought I'd see tumbleweeds rolling by and cattle being hearded by cowboys. :confused3 :lmao: Needless to say, it isn't like that at all.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: yeah, gotta love those junior high days....:scared1:

This cemetery has regular tours -- for Halloween, volunteers will dress up as some of the people buried there and do reenactments of their lives [not creepy, just historical]. In the spring, there's an arboretum tour. It really is a beautiful place - a big hot spot for photographers. I had seen in the paper yesterday that there was a Valentine's Day tour and it so happened that the weather was gorgeous [bright and crisp] - sounded interesting so I went.

I promise, I'm not morbid as a rule.

That sounds really, really cool!
That sounds nice and I love Tink  are pink roses your favorite?

No, pink roses aren't my favorite, but I'll take 'em! :rotfl: I prefer tropical flowers, actually...plumeria and hibiscus are my favs but you can't get those here.
I love Tink, too...hence the name and all my stuff.

The cemetery sounds cool. I like to visit them, especially the old ones. I look at them and imagine what their lives were like, what they looked like, who they were as people. Weird of me, I know.

You definitely have to give those girls credit for being Catty Chatties!

How old is the cemetery?
