Now here comes Helen Thomas with her "so-called terrorists" comments. That woman was supposed to retire almost 9 years ago. So much for that!![]()

I seriously thought my head was going to explode at that comment. So called terrorists??? Is she kidding us? I feel like I am living in an episode of the Twlight Zone.![]()
School has been keeping me busy.
You're right! He sure does !Does anyone else think of James T. Kirk when LTEC Hussein talks. He. talks. so. haltingly. spock. I. don't. know if. I. can. standit.
Blaaaahhhhh.
So I am watching this yawn fest and have one thought.....Can he even answer a darn question?
![]()
I swear you could ask him any question, no matter what.
His twenty minute answer would be something like this:
Platitude, platitude..........blah blah blah........talk down to you........trivial falsehood..........trivial falsehood...........smirk.........um...um......lie...lie....blah blah blah.........failed policies of the last eight years........Republicans bad......platitude......i am so briliant.......I won I won nana-nana-boo-boo.......harrumph...harrumph... I am the smartest in the room.....um...um....deep thought...deep thought.....hail Caesar......I can do no wrong......blah...blah....blah......Yes We Can!

Since he won't take a followup question, I guess we will never hear the reporter ask him:
"What the hell are you talking about?"

Liberal firebrand Helen Thomas offered the most politically-charged question: Mr. President, why do you refuse to respect the wall between the church and state? And you know that the mixing of religion and government, for centuries, has led to slaughter. The very fact that our country has stood in good stead by having this separation -- why do you break it down? When President Bush answered that he did respect the separation of church and state, Thomas blasted back: Well, you wouldn't have a religious office in the White House if you did.
Since President Obama has decided to retain Bushs faith-based initiative (although with a new name and slightly new mission), one wonders if Thomas will press the Democrat on the issue.
The word "foreign" keeps popping up in there. What do you suppose that means?
I miss Bill too! I remember right before the election wishing that Hillary had the Dem nomination because at least if she were elected, I'd feel safe. Yeah, I wouldn't agree with some of her policies, but at least she'd keep us safe (and if you don't agree with me, let me be in my own little world for a while - Obama scares the bejeezus out of me).I gotta say....with the poor Repubs being so in the minority and the country and media going ga-ga over this guy, I'm actually pretty optimistic that there has been this much of a kafuffle about the porkulus bill. Of course, it'll pass, in all of its grossness. But this wasn't nearly the easy road that BHO and the media expected.
My concern will be the things that happen without the fanfare - what could be snuck in without anyone's knowledge? Rush mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the lack-of-Fairness Doctrine wouldn't even need to be passed because there was something else that could be stuck onto a bill that would do basically the same thing, only with another name and without the bad reputation.
And we'd never know.
Goodness, this guy's scary -- I'd never thought I'd say this but, I miss Bill.
How about stop going over there?I never cared one iota about GWB, I wasnt a supporter of his, but I never felt that GWB was going to destroy the constitution like the current guy is going to do.
Now, Charade! Would you please shut the cat door and lock it when you come back in from over there?
Thank you.
Really? Why would a Repub do that? Is he/she insane? The bill was sponsored by a Republican.
We know that DC will bring 3 more Dems to Congress.
Exactly my DH. Yesterday he watched the last 15 minutes of the President's speech and he came out to tell me that the guy couldn't answer a question. This is very telling for my husband to notice - he thought what I was saying for months was all silly drivel.DH usually doesn't get too excited about politics but, he is absolutely beside himself over the things Obama is doing...and has already done. He can't believe it. He thought all the dire warnings had something to do with "tin foil hats".
Senate Democrats Add Golf Carts to Stimulus
Monday, February 9, 2009 2:53 PM
By: Jim Meyers
The U.S. Senate’s stimulus package includes $300 million for environmentally friendly modes of transportation, including “neighborhood electric vehicles” — which are, in fact, golf carts.
The 778-page Senate bill includes this allocation: “For capital expenditures and necessary expenses of acquiring motor vehicles with higher fuel economy, including: hybrid vehicles; neighborhood electric vehicles; electric vehicles; and commercially-available, plug-in hybrid vehicles, $300,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2011.”
The Web site Townhall.com observes: “The Democrats thought they could fool you by renaming the money earmarked for golf carts in the stimulus bill as paying for ‘neighborhood electric vehicles’…
“Most people call them golf carts.”

What's up with the release of 58,000 prisoners in CA because they could not get the "healthcare they deserve"? I just heard a quick clip on tv (as DS looked for his next sporting event).
That's messed-up. I'm all for us going back to the chain-gang in prisons - you know, when it was an actual punishment to be in prison and not a reward?http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/...of-any-country-in-the-middle-east-with-nukes/
I missed that. WTH?
"I was born a liberal." Helen Thomas

I guess that a massive Government purchase of golf carts will get us out of a recession according to the Dems:

Yes, I was talking to Charade. You're talking to Charade -right? I'm firmly over here.

I love the way they disappear when asked questions they have no answer for.

I apologize, I have to sleep sometimes.
And yes, it does say 'foriegn' in there quite frequently. It doesn't say the person whos privacy is being violated has to be foreign, just that they have to have suspicion some tie. They don't need proof, just suspicion.
So for example, say you saw an article online about Al Queida ranting about something and there was a link to their website. You follow the link to see what is involved. Tracking software shows you visiting that site.
Poof! You have just given up your 4th amendment right to privacy.
"Neighborhood Electric Vehicles" are what they use in "The Villages" in Florida. Some are quite expensive and look like Rolls and Mercedes.

Unless the connection is secure and someone taps into it, you've never been guaranteed privacy while surfing the web.
LOL! I was singing that song all.day.long. yesterday. Could not get it out of my head. I seriously think it has subliminal messages in that jingle, because I really want to go to The Villages for some reason. Maybe it's so I can drive one of those cool golf carts.
The people in government can walk like the rest of us. It's good for the heart.![]()
I could have fun with that out here on the ranch. Though I guess that excludes me cause I don't live in a "neighborhood". Dang it.
