Popping in to say that I'm listening to Wishes on Subsonicradio...and am being transported to MK - near the Partners statue where we watched it that last night....*sniff*

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I really miss you!!!

I'm off to bed (Epcot tomorrow). G'night!!

Alright Soarin - do you ever work? Geeze, I'm about to go and enroll in college again just so I can do another CP at Disney and spend all the time at the parks. I only recall getting one day off a week to do anything back when I worked there.

(yes, I have to admit to being somewhat jealous with this post :flower3: )

:thumbsup2 Crowd level is low-medium, I'd say. Longest wait so far I've seen (on a Saturday, which seems to be the busiest day) is 45 minutes for Soarin'. Best time to ride anything at MK, I found out, for this time of year is between 7-8pm during Spectro and Wishes.

Park hours- AK usually from 9am-5pm; Epcot keeps the usual hours; MK 9am-8pm, same for DHS. Of course EMH are offered too so that varies.

Thanks for the first-hand report. :) I love EMH at MK, especially when the crowds are small. The characters are so fun when they aren't being mobbed.

:thumbsup2 Very cute!

Thanks! She's a sweetie.

awww.....ginny the angel!!!

:goodvibes She has her "devil" moments too! Let's see - so far, she's been through 3 pairs of socks, one pair of slippers, one shoe, one remote (just a couple of teeth marks :rotfl: ) and the lever for the recliner footrest! :rotfl2: Yup, she's teething. We're learning. Keep everything out of reach.

Breezy, that food looks wonderful but I've gotta have my dessert too. How about some Sprinkles Cupcakes?

Thank you so much Breezy and Dolce27 for the awesome food!!! What time should we come over for the game? :thumbsup2

Black conservatives take a real beating from the left. I think they are some of the most ideologically honest people in the world. They believe what they believe, even when they are routinely crucified, called the most awful, racist names, etc. They stand firm in their beliefs about what's right for this free nation, when it would be soooo much easier to join the leftist pack. I admire men like Michael Steele…and Thomas Sowell, and Shelby Steele, and Clarence Thomas, and JC Watts, and Walter Williams, and Ward Connerly.

ITA. I would also add Bill Cosby to the list. Not sure of his political leanings but he sure took a beating when he spoke out about young black men and fatherhood.

I am thankful for those brave men and their service to our country, even if others seem to find them unimportant.

Thanks for the story, HB! It's always humbling to know what others have sacrificed in service to our great country.

She's adorable! What a beautiful dog. And God bless you and yours for saving a shelter dog.

Thanks. The only dogs we've ever had were strays/shelter dogs and they have been wonderful members of our family.

I think what happens in this case is a lot of liberals, particularly those actually in politics, see both female conservatives and Black conservatives as the ultimate threat. Why? It helps show that just because you're a woman, or just because you are Black or any other race that isn't White, doesn't mean you automatically should be a liberal. Dems make their money and win elections mostly based on the idea that they represent the little guy or gal, the underrepresented. If they can continue to perpetuate the lies that conservatives hate anyone who's not a White male, then they can continue to count on large majorities in those demos voting for them. The Republicans hold a lot of blame in this too, because they let the Dems set the tone, set the message, instead of fighting back and showing how the conservative POV fits with ideals and beliefs of many women and minorities, and how it can benefit them.

ITA. Great post!

She's adorable! I'm so glad you saved her!!!

:goodvibes She's a keeper!

More than likely, John Edwards would have been the VP choice if he hadn't been caught... um...

Well, at least he gets to keep his job selling retractable awnings! :rotfl2:

OK - I reaaallly need to go to bed but the question just begs to be asked: What is the deal with the Dem's obsession with Rush? They are getting big on the name calling and the insults to cut him down and going on the extreme defense with Obama.

I think that the liberal’s have totally lost it. When Rush Limbaugh becomes a member of the Senate or even head of the GOP; I could understand why they'd feel threatened by such a vocal conservative such as that. But right now he’s a radio talk show host. He tells us what is going on and his opinion but he has no power in Washington.

I’m just astonished by the lengths the Dem’s are going to discredit this guy. They feel threatened. Why? Why now? Don’t you think he was just as harsh on Clinton during the Clinton Administration? Is this back to the kool-aid stuff? Because Rush as dared to criticize “the one” everything is different now? He must now be put away – or whatever- because he’s now speaking out against Obama?

We’ve got some really whacked people in this country that are learning to be unable to handle criticism from Obama.

Soarin, I found the perfect guy for you!!!! I'll pm you a link but for anyone who hasn't seen him yet, go on youtube and look for steven crowder. I didn't post a link because of some of the language. He's a stand up comic but he does political commentaries too. He SOOOO reminds me of a young Glenn Beck. Boy, if I was 20 years younger I'd be drooling all over him. :rotfl:
I'll pm you the actual link Soarin. :thumbsup2

I'm jealous, too. And I'm hoping to get to go to college starting this summer but I can't do the CP for a couple of reasons: 1) I'm married with a one year old. Don't think DH or DS would appreciate it, 2) I'd be going for a nursing degree and that wasn't listed on the CP site as acceptable.

This is just my opinion, but I think they see rl as the new Bush. A large portion of the public, independents and Republicans included, do not like rl. They see him as an obnoxious, loud blowhard. (Sort of like I see some of those idiots on MSNBC.) So, if you make the Republican Party the Rush Party, you convince those voters you need, come 2010, that a Republican Vote is a Rush Vote. ( I don't listen to him, but I think he is correct on the Pork Package.) That is why MoveOn is going to make him seem personally responsible for job losses in those ads in target states.

I hope this made sense: just like Republicans lost votes because voters disliked Bush, Dems want Republicans to lose votes in the future because voters will dislike rl, the new face of the Republican party per the Dems. Paul Begala was doing that today: Republicans = Rush. It will be their mantra.

I think the Dems are trying to marginalize the Republicans because they know this latest bailout was a Pelosi pork fest and wanted to shame the Republicans into voting for it. Put the fear of being labeled a "Rush lover" into them if you will. Thinking that most center right conservatives don't like Rush and therefore will not vote for someone who they think listens to everything Rush says as if it is written in stone. But most center right conservatives (of which I am one) are smart enough to understand that Rush is just a talk show guy who makes some valid points and some not-so valid points. I agree with Rush that Obama wanted some Republicans to vote for the bill so they could share the "bipartisan" blame when it FAILS! Which.it.will.

on another thread, a lib suggested that bho is using rush as a representative of those in congress whose views are the same, but because he can't point directly at those people and "hope" for any cooperation from them, he references rush instead. what he's saying remains the same, "don't listen to conservatives", whether he says "conservative members of congress" or "conservative talk radio show host". i thought this was good insight.

i also think rush, having a giant personality, is a great target. if bho tells people not to listen to him, bho's supporters won't. not only that, whether they've ever listened to the guy or not, they'll spread the hate. hate for the man becomes hate for the concepts very easily.

I have my suspicions that the supposed bi-partisan invitation to the WH, where he told the Repubs "not to listen to Rush", was a planned event to start this hate fest. He had reporters there to regurgitate exactly what he wanted them to report: Republicans are the party of Rush. I think the MoveOn ads were already in the mix when this happened. They knew they would blame job losses on rl's failure to tell his minions to vote for the Pork bill. Some marketing person has this all figured out. The best way to make the public ignore your own failings is to give them another target.

Wow go to a birthday party and all y'all start a new thread!!:cool1: :thumbsup2

Soarin' so glad you are having a great time and are taking time out to post and rub our noses in it!:hyper: I am so living vicariously through you right now. I think I am going to go back to college also. I don't think the family will mind....

OK off to see whats new out there..:scared:

Everyone have a great weekend!!

I saw the latest thread about him. I'm soooo tempted to post: "Well, I guess if you think him not showing up means he's a chicken, you also think Obama was a chicken when he didn't show up for the 10 townhalls McCain repeatedly challenged him to." But I figure why bother. It will be ignored or explained away anyhow.

I think it's all kind of funny. First Sean was the obsession du jour of Obama, now it's Rush. Personally, I think Olberman says some ridiculous and crazy stuff, but I don't spend my free time obsessing about the man or trash talking him over and over again. I simply don't watch or listen to him. Problem solved.

The so-called party of love and tolerance is often the one to get petty quickly, be it about Palin's love of hunting or the way a person looks. Ex. I personally have seen a lot of libs make fun of Condi Rice's appearance; how mature, indeed. Begala was just yapping away about Palin and Rush on CNN, and being his typically rude self. He too was making cracks about Rush's former addiction to pain killers. :sad2: Again, you can trash a person's beliefs/statements all you want, but when you're too busy calling them names and/or making fun of their drug addictions (just as some here like to do), that's just sad. Even if you truly think the person you are personally bashing is guilty of name calling and horrible statements about others, why would you stoop to that level in return? I don't get it.

yup...100%. sure makes the president of our country look immature and superficial when he's all about hollywood celebrities, radio shows, and sports. like a high-school jerk.
