I don't care what you think about the President or his policies.

To make such a vile post is sick. How can anyone joke about assassination?

who exactly do you think YOU are? maybe you should go monitor your own life. if this is true:
I don't care what you think about the President or his policies.
...why did you come here to read my post?

why don't you try doing this some more:

man alive!!! you've been busy. your prior description of your day sounded pretty good to me...eat, surf, study...:thumbsup2

well i hope you find the position you want...are you pretty set on the east coast?
I'm not set on the east coast, but I'd prefer to move to a city with good public transit, so I wouldn't have to drive. Sell the Acura, keep the beater Jetta in PR, and bring the new Jetta with me.

The top two cities are NYC and DC, just because they have the highest number of available jobs in my field, with San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago as distant thirds.

Sorcerer Donald - It seems that you do not like this Doc very much. Does your mom feel the same way? Because if you do I would highly encourage you to look elsewhere for treatment. If you cannot have a trusting relationship with your doc, then what else is there. You will never be happy or confident you are getting the best treatment available.

i see...makes sense. california really hasn't gotten the public transportation thing quite right yet. trying, but no cigar. we still don't have BART going all the way around the bay yet, 'cause one city will say "okay" and the next city down the line says "no". trains don't really connect with other transport, so you have to take a cab from the train station..pretty soon it's so darned expensive to use public transit, or it takes sooooo long to get someplace, that you give up and drive.

much luck to you.

SD, I spoke to family who are stationed in VA. They said that most are stunned at the decision and are not happy with it. FIL said that those of us who didn't vote for bho are paying for the stupidity of the ones who did.
Thanks for sharing that. What gets me is because some of the families think all's fine because Obama talked to them, then that means he's right and they're right, and those families who are mad/upset about this are simply "grieving" and "misguided." :sad2:

I can only speak for myself and say it disgusts me, and that I think that "meeting" was for no purpose other than to try and use those people for political gain. i.e. "Oh look, he's the first to meet with their families! He's so different! He's so great" Yes, and he also had the charges dropped. That meeting doesn't change that fact. I know I'm cynical about politics regardless of which side of the aisle we're talking about, but to me it's obvious they're being used as political pawns. :sad2:

I think she dislikes him even more than I do. She was not happy when she got that letter today saying he had it sent off before getting her consent, which was required. For me, ethics is a big part of my field, and that sent up a big red flag beyond just disagreements with the other doctors. First time she met him, he also said he plans to use her case at conferences and talk all about her, but without her name, and she had no say so in that because it's technically anonymous. He said in the same visit before the surgeries that he's a big fan of the test he eventually ordered because he think it's helpful, but also because of the research conferences he goes to and presents data at. He already had the risk percentage of it coming back and the type (as did the surgeon), but he ordered this just to get a little bit more information and make his decision. Basically it's coming off to her (and she said this) like she's a guinea pig for a science project, and that's not being received too well on her end or mine. The advice you gave is spot on, IMO. I've told her get a second opinion regardless of what the tests say. She's waiting to see what he says, and then she'll probably see a second chemo doctor regardless.

:rotfl2:

I think a muzzle would be more effective. :upsidedow
wouldn't wanna keep them from talking, though, right? that would be censorship. like the fairness doctrine.

isn't that the same poster who thought honu shouldn't be allowed to make comments about her own disease? i guess the libs are the

now.

here...i'd better clean up after the mess left behind. looks as though they left a lot of residue after devouring jelly beans.

out of curiosity and nosiness, and because you mentioned the significant difference in price between what he originally said the test would cost and what it actually costs, did he happen to provide a written estimate? (i'm guessing not 'cause y'all are smart and you'd have thought of this already.)

I’m an American who doesn’t find “a joke” about assassinating our President funny.

It's amazing how the left had no problem with this when movies were being made and books written about Bush being assassinated. Back then it was considered free speech and if someone on the right spoke out about it they were a bunch of Nazis

yeah...well...emotional outbursts happen i guess. i'm sure she thought it was the right thing to do at the time. i know that i absolutely and without question feel as though i've been put in my place. oh yeah.

Nope. She was told on the phone yesterday by the person in the office who handles the consent for testing that it would be $3,000. Paperwork arrived today dated Wednesday from a different office and said it would be $4,000. Called to confirm, and it is 4K. And again with the conflicting information thing. :sad2: Nothing drives me crazier much faster than conflicting information.

ah...well, i think i'd make a fuss about that, since obviously the officer person made and error and the price difference is great. the office person needed to be looking at something at the time or looking at the WRONG thing at the time. his/her error shouldn't come out of your pockets. worth a try anyway.

Agreed.

On the stimulus note, it looks like Specter and Collins are lining up to be the Judases and allow this mess of a bill to pass. Specter himself said it's a bad bill, but hey, we gotta do something! Oh please.

These two RINOs sicken me. If ever there was a time to stick together, this was it. Even McCain isn't behind this, and he loves stabbing conservatives in the back! Yes, you have to do something, but junk spending is not it. Here's hoping to a Republican with some fiscal sense running against them in a primary when they're each up for reelection. McConnell ought to get them both in a room right now and chew them out, IMO. This isn't about being partisan, this is about recognizing the fact that doing something wrong just to do something is both stupid and immoral when you're talking about this kind of money.

Specter's email inbox is supposedly full, but people are suggesting we email Steele at the RNC and tell him we want two people who practice fiscal responsibility running in a primary for the nomination for those two seats come re-election year if they dare to vote for this travesty. Good idea, IMO.
