Seem like all is not well on the other side of the isle. Looks like the blue dog Democrats are getting a little restless with the party leadership:

Hmmm....turning on their own already huh?

Hey, Breezy.

A bit off topic here ... but would you change your aviator? I need to focus on going to the gym for 2 hrs after work – not eat chocolate.

I don’t suppose that you have an apple aviator – do ya?

*sigh*

I want chocolate... I want chooclate.. I want chocolate...

I have to laugh at how much some of the liberals on this board defend certain people who don't pay their taxes. And to lurking friends, I know we do the same thing when a republican is caught at something naughty.

I don't know...when that one guy got caught in the bathroom by that cop and the gay sex in the bathroom thing (I can't remember his name!), I don't know of any conservatives that defended him. He had to resign his position.
When that one guy was caught talking to underage pages, he had to resign.
Maybe I didn't come across any, but I don't personally know of any conservatives that thought those actions were okay.

I have to disagree on this one. I want people in Government that I can trust. Honest public servants. If it were a Republican that was cheating on his taxes, I would be on him/her just as much as I am against the Dems that are doing it right now. You can't have selective morality. Moral beliefs are not like an overcoat that you can put on or take off as you see fit depending on how the wind is blowing. We must all stand for better behavior from our public servants from both sides of the aisle and it is a shame that the Dems are not following the mantra of change that Obama had promised. He is just like any other Dem that we have seen. He complained about the Republican's and George W Bush's corruption but his administration is showing to be the most corrupt administraition in a long time.

I completely agree. It's as hypocritical as those on the other side who have selective tolerance.

Oh I was just trying to be fair and balanced! I know that at times, I have given more benefit of doubt to republicans but in reality I want all politicians held to a high standard. So I fessed up some. But I do think the lengths that liberals are going to in regards to Daschle and Co. is somewhat funny. And very two faced. I was referring more to when Bush wanted to appoint the woman who had nanny troubles. I didn't at the time think that was a huge big deal. But the other side sure did.

And I didn't know any Republicans that defended those two politicians you mentioned above either. Thank goodness.

I actually agree with you. I wasn't saying that all of us never are willing to stand tough against our elected republicans. I was just trying to be up front that I know we all want to defend who we vote for so that when the lurkers came on, they couldn't say otherwise.

What I want to know is how come none of these tax cheats have overpaid their taxes? You would think that if it was all truly just a big mistake, that at least one of them would have errored on the side of caution and overpaid......but no! That didn't happen! The error was always in their favor!

:sad2:

Uh oh. The left is going to be mocking Beck big time for getting emotional today regarding the story of US citizens being kidnapped.

Good point. Interesting how the errors seem to always work right in the direction of their wallets. Geitner is the one that gets me the most. Why was this financial genius using Turbo Tax?

If I hear one more lib saying its all because our tax code is so confusing I'll scream or barf. Nothing confusing about reporting what you make and then figuring out what you owe. And that's why God invented CPA's!

Love that the man with the expertise in Federal Tax's is appointed to be in charge of it....and he uses Turbo Tax...and cant even do that right :rotfl2:

GOP Congressman Intros 'Rangel Rule,' Eliminating IRS Late Fees

Didn't hear about the nanny troubles thing. What'd she do, have a nanny who was illegal? If she did, shame on her. She should know better.

Uh oh. The left is going to be mocking Beck big time for getting emotional today regarding the story of US citizens being kidnapped.

I personally thought it was sweet. The guy is a dad himself. I'm sure he was looking at it from that perspective. If the worst they can find to criticize him is for getting emotional over a story like that (I mean, I'd probably be emotional too if I was covering that), then they don't really have much to fault him for, do they?

Just wanted you all to know I'm joining the Democratic party...why stay a Republican and still have to pay taxes:confused3 ...there may be a DVC in my future now:rotfl2: :lmao:

So Wallace is interviewing Obama and asked if Daschle had not dropped out, would Obama continued to have supported him. Obama's response: "I don't want to get into hypotheticals." Please.:rolleyes2

Didn't hear about the nanny troubles thing. What'd she do, have a nanny who was illegal? If she did, shame on her. She should know better.

It was Linda Chavez. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia on that one:

In 2001, President George W. Bush nominated Chavez for Secretary of Labor. She was the first Hispanic woman nominated to a United States cabinet. She withdrew the nomination after it was revealed, through her neighbor Margaret "Peggy" Zwisler, that she had allegedly given money to Marta Mercado, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala who lived in her home more than a decade earlier. Contrary to some reports, Chavez did not actually employ Mercado, but provided her with emergency assistance due to the domestic abuse the woman had been facing at the time.[5] Chavez, Mercado, and National Review writer John Miller all stated that Mercado was not an employee of Chavez,[5] and both Miller and Mercado credit Chavez with helping her at a time when she needed it most.[3] A subsequent follow-up of the matter by the FBI found Chavez was not guilty of any wrongdoing. Chavez later helped Mercado find work at the Zwisler home.[3] Mercado is now a U.S. citizen.[6]

So it wasn't a nanny but rather someone she let live in her home. Its been so long I couldn't remember the particulars. Suffice to say, the liberals got in a hissy fit and put on the heat and she withdrew her name.
