Conservative Thread: U.S. Steele - Back In Business

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt like I could have been listening to any other speech he made in the past six months. He was irritating me.

I'm watching Fox right now, hoping to hear Jindahl's speech since I missed it earlier. I don't know if I can wait much longer, though. I feel pretty crummy and I think as soon as I herd my kids to bed I'll be right behind them.

Hmmm....Posters have been banned for copying and pasting...at least, that's the info I have. It may be incorrect, but I've heard it more than a few times.

That being said, it's not worth reporting anyway. It reveals a lot about a poster who would do such a thing. If they have nothing better to do? So be it. I almost let it go....almost, but "I'm a Fighter". ;)

To be fair, I'm the one that originally brought up reporting. I've reported exactly twice in the almost three years that I've been on the DIS. Once on a weird situation and once on a lib that after months of harassment, I finally became sick of all of the taunting and pot-stirring and reported that poster to the Mod’s. Fortunately, I haven’t seen that lib post since that day. Well, at least I haven’t seen that poster under that screen name. We know many of the lib’s like to return under different names.

But the lib’s keep doing this; pulling things we say and yanking it out on to the CB in order to pot-stir and bash us. I’m beyond fed up with it. GotDisney did have it happen to her a lot back in the primaries; I remember that. I am about to the point where I’m going to report any lib that I catch doing that. It’s childish and I’m sick of it and trying to treat them like adults and tell them to stop doesn’t work. It’s time to treat them like the children that they are behaving and tattle on them. That’s obviously the only way to get through to them.

Is it me, or is Obama still campaigning? :confused3

I'm trying to watch this address, but it is making me crazy.

He's still campaigning. He's never known how to do anything other than that. He doesn't do real work. Instead of flying the Air Force One all over the country (which I heard cost an outrageous sum like $9,000.00/hr ??) to campaign, he needs to be in the White House working. Working on something non-Socialistic. But then, he doesn't know anything other.

This is more than just the OS here, it is how liberals generally act. They know that they can't win the argument in the arena of ideas, so they have to take one little thing that someone says, take it out of it's context, and then dismiss that person as a racist, hate monger, sexist, homophobe or just a buffoon.
This is how they dismiss people like Rush, Sean , Glenn, Palin, or any of us that dare refute 'Fearless Leader's' ideas.

They can't refute the ideas, so they try and destroy the person.

Here is a great video of Glenn showing step by step how this works:

::yes:: I agree with you on that.

I like Jindal too, but...I don't think this was his best speech.

Yeah, but I don't need to be smooth talked by some politician. I can listen for substance and be less concerned with delivery. I guess that's what got me through the Bush years.:rotfl:

Are you surprised? It seems to be the liberal thing to do. You know, the kinder more compassionate party? The ones who care more.

No I am used to the left doing this. The thing that I find amusing about it is that Olberman, Maddow, and 'Tingles' all think of themselves as intellectuals. They are nuanced thinkers that are better than us because their their thoughts are so deep.

Unfortunately their dismissive attitude to anything that doesn't fit their narrow minds, makes them look like idiots.

Many libs on these boards try and do the same thing. When you disagree with them they start throwing out all of the 'laughing smileys' to demean us, since they can't refute the argument.

Yeah, but I don't need to be smooth talked by some politician. I can listen for substance and be less concerned with delivery. I guess that's what got me through the Bush years.:rotfl:

Agreed...I'm for substance over style any day. And the speech was good, just not delivered the best. I do like Jindal, but delivery in this day and age of media does count. I know he's done better before...I think he was just nervous. He got better as he went on.

I've only reported one person and it was for extremely racist comments and when called on it by other posters was unapologetic and rude.
I agree with you; I think if they pot-stir they should be reported. There's no reason for them to get away with it. The more we ignore it the more they do it; they're not like bullies on a school-yard playground that forget about it if you ignore them.

I liked his speech as well (see my thread) but as you can see others are already critiqueing his "delivery" instead of the substance.

I try not to be prejudiced by the way people speak while I'm trying to listen to what they are saying ;)

Ah. I read as much of his address as I could before my BP started to rise.

But I have something positive to say: at least he didn't fly to Denver to make this speech :rotfl:

There are so many errors in there just with basic logic, I could go through and pick it apart. Seriously...his first point on the "economy" was about green energy. Ummm, that's not going to save the economy.

And my boyfriend just sent me this link: http://www.atr.org/join-tuesday-night-o-bingo-a2923 I wish I had it before the speech and I might have actually watched it :lmao:

But that's how they decided to vote for bo! It was his delivery; they didn't actually listen to what he had to say when campaigning.

So I'm watching Fox still hoping to see Jindahl...and Hannity is interviewing Michael Steele, who just said that Obama has spent 36 billion dollars for each DAY he has been in office. :scared1:

I'm sure none of you are surprised, and yeah I've heard the numbers batting around on this whole porkulus package and all...but it's pretty shocking to hear it broken down that way.

I agree...it was like electing someone on American Idol...Obama's speech had no substance.

It would be nice to have someone with substance, who can deliver with style. I do think Jindal was just nervous. I like him.

That WAS funny, Onelil!

My favorite part was the explanation for all the terms:

"since the Great Depression" - the economic one, not the one you've been in since the election -- so true...

I liked that too, that was funny.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I really wish I would have had it before the speech.

Not to worry though, because you can use it for ANY of his speeches!

:rotfl2:

Haha...so true!

Oh geez...I didn't read the explanations, just the bingo card! I'm going back now to read them :goodvibes

ETA: While reading through I decided it's a good idea they made it "Bingo" and not a drinking game :scared:

:lmao: My co-worker told me about that earlier today. Too funny!

Someone slap me and prevent me from posting anymore in the threads about tonight's speeches. I'm giving myself a headache.

Anyway, I liked Jindal's speech. Agreed it wasn't his best, but my main concern is content, not style.
