Anya, thank you so much yesterday. Even though we didn't make it, it was truly fun.
I am upset as well. What was VMK thinking? I had school so I couldn't finish it. Afterwards, I ran to the computer with little hope (April Fool's Day joke, perhaps?) and I was let down after seeing that it was definitely over.
Noon is a very inconvenient time on a weekday and I'm surprised they didn't at least let it go through all of today.

Just because there was a thread here doesn't mean anything. VMK didn't announce it. Reading the rumor mill here on DISboards shouldn't be a prerequisite to enjoying VMK. And running the quest from 3/29 to 4/1 wouldn't be understood by any normal person to mean it shuts down at noon. That's ridiculous.

If VMK cost anything at all to play, anything, it would have lost a huge percentage of its customers over a gaffe this ugly. As it is, they don't charge a dime for the game, and they provide customer service commensurate with such a cost.

I feel your pain. I finished Jungle Cruise at 12:03, praying that they would leave it or that it wasn't true (not that Fin lied, but that the higher ups gave her wrong info). I'm so disappointed that I was so close, thinking of all that I could have cut out to make it on time. I really wanted all of the prizes, but especially the Minnie hat, and I feel like I deserve them at this point. Definitely disappointed.

Well, I spat out "morons" in the few minutes after the quest ended and I was left out in the cold. So you could say I wasn't really thinking about what I was typing. And, after calming down and giving it some thought... I am sticking to morons!

Anyone else enjoy the VMK Players take the blame for VMK as a whole again? I guess VMK can't take the responsible way of doing things, and handle their problems without pointing fingers towards others. Yavn (the fake one) said that he learned things that will be fixed for future events. I would just like to say I've learned something also:
VMK is cold hearted. Possibly not even a heart or soul at all.

... also I know that this probably doesn't concern all VMK Staff, but to those that worked on it and made the decision to terminate early the second line of my post is for YOU

Well I agree soooo much that I want to 12th 13th and 14th that statement. I did not even get past the pirates and could not play yesterday at all due to real life issues.

I am really happy for those that did win this quest but I cannot say this enough....... VMK does not think things through at all. I mean come on. Just the waiting lines to get into pirates killed so many "dreams".

I talked to a few fellow dis'ers about the fact that after Dreams month I started to play less and less, and after this horrible mess I plan to be on even less.

VMK should know their players and treat them accordingly. I feel so bad for the kids that could not pass this quest, not because I dont think that it is good for kids to fail (gives them character) but becasue the prizes offered were better than most of them could ever ever hope for. As frustrated as I was by not winning I still know that I have lots of great stuff and if I was motivated enough I could trade for the things I really wanted. Many kids especially the newer players just dont have the means to come up with things needed to get them.

Most of the "rich" players are that way from either being here so long that they had time to accumulate stuff and a huge percentage of them got that way thanks to in park items. Now that that is over I dont know how newer players will ever be able to get some things unless they are released or they make a series of GREAT trades.

VMK really broke some hearts with this mess and I joked in game several times....

"Dear Family, I dead myself because I could not pass the Pirate Quest. Please sue VMK for cruel and unusual punishment."

Thanks Aurorasparkle, and thank you all for your support (and of the umpteen repeat of Morons, it's cracking me up).

I still think they should have run the quest through 4/1, which we all assumed was closing. I know the Yavn-bot gave his slap in the face, I mean reasons, in the newsletter for ending it early. But I think he's full of it and I think he is punishing those of us who really had their heart in this because of a small group of idiots. Just let the idiots have their extra ears so those of us that are crying over not having them could have gotten them too.

And after reading Yavn's newsletter this morning, today is the angriest day for me. I have always tried to be fair and look at things from VMK's side in the past, but this is just.... I don't know.. there are no words for the totally boneheaded move on VMK's part to pull the quest early. VMK has cheated the honest players out of finishing this insane quest and at the same time rewarded the dishonest hackers... Absolutely makes no sense whatsoever to me...

And after reading Yavn's newsletter this morning, today is the angriest day for me. I have always tried to be fair and look at things from VMK's side in the past, but this is just.... I don't know.. there are no words for the totally boneheaded move on VMK's part to pull the quest early. Aww, thanks Pink. I appreciate your And thank you so much for all of your hard work getting others through Pirates. I was told that you had an incredible system in place so WOOT for all of your work to get many beyond that task.

I have always tried to be positive about VMK when I post, but yesterday was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. So I think I think I blew my top a little and just started blabbering, starting with this thread right after the quest. And I don't know if I will ever be able to going back to focusing on just the VMK positive. This one cut deep.
