Conocord/Kannapolis NC - anyone know anything about the area?

DH may have a job opportunity in Charlotte. We currently live in Durham. We are thinking that if he gets the offer and if he decides to take it, we'd be looking at Concord to live in. House are MUCH more affordable there. How are the schools? I know the shopping is great (Concord mills, IKEA). And we used to live in Salisbury. So it's not a completely foreign area for us. But we dont know anyone that lives there. I figured you never know with the DIS so might as well ask

Traffic to/from Charlotte from that area can be a nightmare.
My DH and I live in Rock Hill, SC. When we were looking to move here we were also looking in that area. My DH is a consultant and travels weekly, so he has a weekly commute to CLT. Our realtor told us that the traffic is much better from the south of Charlotte than from the north. He hasn't had any problems.

It's a bit far from Concord to Charlotte. Traffic is horrible. We live 12 miles from DH office in Uptown and it takes 45 minutes for him to get to and from work. You may want to think of looking a little closer to Charlotte.

DH would be working at the Panthers stadium. And I would be looking for a job in either Charlotte, Concord or possibly Salisbury. Plus we have family in Lexington. So concord would really be a good location for us.
