Most of you know that I'm heading to Disney in December.. It will be me, my grown daughter and my 5yr. old granddaughter.. We all eat like birds..

Seems like the Connections thing is mostly about food vouchers, right? So would be something I should look into or would I do okay without it?

Thanks!

C.Ann I dont belong to Connections but to Simple Escapes (same thing really). I love it. I did buy some vouchers for our tip but they also have retail cards I use all the time. For instance last Christmas I bought $200 worth of Toys R US cards bought the boys a x-box and then got my $40 rebate back so it only cost me $160--not bad.
You can also buy resturant cards to use in your home town or can use them in Orlando. We bought $60 of Planet Hollywood cards. I used my DC to get 10% off the top of our bill and used the Planet Hollywood cards to pay for the meal. I recd a $12 rebate so I ended up only paying $48 for my cards. If you stay offsite or go offsite to eat they also have Bennigans, Red Lobster, Olive Garden.
I have not been double billed yet (knocking on wood).

Connections does offer discounted items other than just the food vouchers, but those and the discounted park tickets are the most common topic on these boards.

If you and your girls eat like birds, you could probably get a meal with a voucher and ALL share it! LOL There are several varieties at various costs and for different meals and restaurants. They used to be listed on Mousesavers.com in terrific detail, but issues with Connections' customer service and frequent mis-billing problems caused Mary to choose to drop the info because she did not want to appear to be promoting a service that was getting so many complaints.

There is a trial membership available by calling Lillian Vernon at the 800 number below. You get a 30-day free trial and can continue your membership at $8.50 per month. The best part is that it is a month-to-month membership. You are not tied in for a year. You also get a $20 dining rebate for joining thru Lillian Vernon. The 30 day free trial would allow you to order your vouchers and cancel prior to the start of the billing period. The vouchers expire in May 2004 (I believe), and I know they stay valid even after you cancel membership.

There was also a trial membership in "Homeworks", and this is what another poster said about that program:

The "Homeworks" program with Lillian Vernon offers 20% discounts at stores including (but not limited to) Lowes, Home Depot, K-Mart, Pier One, Pennys, etc., discounted movie tickets, and restaurants (Fridays, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc.) . There's other stuff too. You can get a 30-day free membership with a free $25 gas card just for trying the program. After your 30-day free trial, it's $9.95 a month. It's a pretty good program and, if nothing else, get your $25 gas card, use your free membership for 30 days and then cancel. You have nothing to lose. You can discontinue at any time. Connections and Homeworks are upsales for the phone reps at Lillian Vernon and they would love to sign you up for one!!

C.Ann, maybe checking the thread at the top of the budget board about Connections will help you, too. HTH!
