Just joined connections and ordered 7 day hopper plus ($292) - great price and also several adult Kingdom lunch, quick and casual, and breakfast vouchers.

I am trying to decide if I should order some of the childrens kingdom lunch vouchers. My son is 7 and very picky eater. Along with the childrens entree do they get to pick an appetiser and dessert also? It seems like the voucher may cost a little more than the actual meal (but may work out better with the tax and tip included).

Have any of you used these vouchers. I've read that the childrens breakfast is not a good deal - just wondering about the kids lunch voucher.

I purchased a few child vouchers for my trip last July. I wouldn't recommend purchasing the children's version of any connection voucher... there are only a few places where they are economical (off the top of my head the Grand Floridian Cafe, but I had to choose expensive and additional items she didn't even eat to break even with it).
The adult ones can be a good buy. My favorite ones were the casual dining vouchers... use them at Beaches and Cream for the best bang for your buck! Also a decent value at Tuskers in AK. Adult lunch voucher was economical at ALfredo Di Roma, and many other Epcot eateries.

I found the Connections children's vouchers to be well worth the cost in several instances (my children are 7 and 11 and usually good eaters--especially the DS11). We used them at the sci-fi, prime time, san angel,& rainforest cafe at AK. Sometimes they split and shared, other times they each used their own. I always asked how hungry they thought they were and we ordered accordingly. As long as I break even with the tax and tip included I don't feel that I have wasted my money.(2 for a beverage, 3.75-6.95 for the appetizer, 3.99-5.99 for the entree, and 4-5 for dessert=$13.74-18.94 total before tax and tip seems like a fairly good deal to me). Only you know your child's eating habits, if they are not going to eat that much food than it may not be worth your investment. If the children are good eaters than you shouldn't have a problem. :D

Thanks for both of your views. I think I'll purchase a few to try. My boyfriend and I will split the lunch vouchers and I figure whatever my son doesn't eat, we probably will.

In reference to the Children's Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers:

I am planning on using these at the AK Rainforest Cafe in December for my 7, 11, and 12 year old daughters. I called WDW Dining and they told me there shouldn't be any problem using this for the 12 year old since the Rainforest Cafe childrens' menu says 12 & Under.

Anybody else with experience with using the child voucher with an "almost" un-child.

The vouchers say that the child is entitled to an appetizer but there are no appetizers on the children's menu. Would they be allowed to order (selected) appetizers from the regular menu?

Thanks!!!!

Karen and Gina,
Check your PM's
Sally;)

We used the child's voucher at ESPN Club and it was a great deal. My kids split it. (DS9 & DD15)

DS got the kids meal.
DD got Nachos--and yes, the appetizer is from the adult menu.

They shared an ice cream sundae.
