Connection/US Customs Questions

Not Disney related but i'm planning on flying from Toronto to Las Vegas in a few weeks but I would have to connect in Montreal. My questions is do I clear customs in Toronto or do I need to go through customs in Montreal prior to boarding the flight for Las Vegas?

My concern is that if I do need to clear customs in Montreal I only have 1 hr between flights to clear customs..im thinking that it will be way too close

Assuming you aren't flying one of a handful of charter airlines that don't do US Pre Clearance in Canada, you'll do Pre Clearance in Montreal. The Toronto-Montreal flight is domestic.

I've never done Pre Clearance in Montreal, so I cannot help you with the times. The airline should have minimum connection times posted on their website and/or the YUL site should have information.

You will clear customs in Montreal which means you'll have to collect your bags upon landing in Montreal, go through US security/customs and recheck your bags before boarding the plane to Las Vegas. Seeing that it takes time for the bags to be unloaded from the plane and get to the baggage carousel, plus most airlines usually start boarding flights 1/2 hour before the flight leaves, that 1 hour layover might be cutting it a little too close.
