Connecting Rooms within Grand Floridian

I'm sorry, I need to clarify myself...

We are co sleepers. When we are done watching tv or reading, we would join him in bed. The room would not have been for him alone. The room would have been a place to go so as not to disturb the next person.

I don't mean that I would leave him in there all night by himself. And that is why I asked what WAS a connecting room like...

If this is the case...you are definatley wasting money on 2 hotel rooms...to just use one as a TV room. I would look into renting DVC points for a 1 bedroom....Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness lodge, Old key West....are great resorts...Paying $400+ per night just to watch TV and get your toddler to sleep seems very expensive to me..

Disney policy on connecting rooms from friends that work at Disney resorts:

Regardless of what Reservations will tell you and we all know they can be sooo wrong, is Disney resorts will not guarantee connecting rooms "unless" there is only "one" adult in the group. If there are 2 adults, they assume if you had to you could put one adult in each room.

So as stated by others be sure you realize that there is a very slim chance, but it does happen, that you won't get connecting rooms with 2 adults.

They will do everything they can do get you the rooms, but sometimes due to occupancy, who is moving out on the day you check in, they just can't make it work. Basically both rooms have to be empty on the day you check in as they can not ask someone to move out of one of the rooms.

Also as stated if your child accidently closes the connecting door you can't get back into the room from your side. If this happened at night and you had put the security lock on the door to the room your child was in, this could be a serious problem.

If you want to stay at the GF try and book a turrett(sp?) room. They are a regular room with a seperate area with a tv and sofa. I believe there is even a door to close between the two areas. We tried to get one, but they fill up quickly so we have requested 2 connecting rooms. Good luck with your decision.

This is actually called a lodge tower room. They are slightly bigger than a standard room and do offer a separate seating area with a 2nd tv. Unfortunately, there is no divider and it's simply one big room. You can take a look at the different room layouts here, http://www.the-grahams.net/gf/rooms.html.

I believe the junior suite at the Yacht Club has the french doors between the two rooms, as well as a similar set up with the deluxe rooms at the Wilderness Lodge. There are also the 2 floor garden suites (which come with concierge service) at the Boardwalk.
