Connecting Rooms at Wilderness Lodge?

How likely is it to get connecting rooms at the Wilderness Lodge? I understand that it is just a request but I am curious how often it happens for families. My second option would be adjoining rooms – they would be nice but not as convenient.

Thanks for the help! Planning is always easier here.

We have had good luck getting connecting rooms at WL. We traveled with my parents, who had a separate reservation but the same dates. We made sure to have "traveling with" added to each reservation mentioning the other confirmation number. We also mentioned connecting room in our room requests, along with the location preferences that we had, which we also made sure we had in common.

Many of the rooms at WL have connecting doors, and they exist in all bookable view categories, so it is pretty likely that you will be able to get them.

We were accommodated with connecting rooms one out of three trips requested. I don't know if this is typical or not. We were 4 adults travelling with 2 children, so I expect that we weren't high priority. I expect if you are only 2 adults with more children you might expect a better lilihood of getting the request met.

We were fairly close to one another - just a few doors away. Not ideal, but not too bad.

It is almost impossible to say what your odds are. It is 100% dependent on occupancy and how many others requested connecting rooms. No 2 stays will be identical. If it's really important to you I would call and make sure the two reservations are linked as traveling together and then make connecting your only request on both reservations.

I think your check in day can matter as well. We get two rooms for our family and when we have checked in on Saturday or Sunday(popular checkout days) we have gotten connecting rooms. We were at CSR over spring break a few weeks ago, checked in on a Monday. They did not have connecting rooms available. The CM mentioned that Sunday was a big check-in day. They did accomodate our connecting room request two days later. We were only a few doors away until then. So even if we couldn't move, we would have been ok. You may have to spend a little time at the front desk talking to the CM to find available rooms if you aren't given them initially, but the CM's try to be as accomodating as possible.

We would definity have more adults than children so I'm sure we would be low on the priority list. It would be super convenient if grandma/grandpa come along to be connecting. Naptime is nicer with connecting rooms! :)

We stayed it WL Feb. 7-12 this year and had connecting rooms. Courtyard rooms 3161 and 3163.
