Connecting Rooms at POP

I'm planning to book two connecting rooms at POP. Does anyone know if it's possible to get one of the rooms with a king bed and the connecting room with two doubles? And if so, whereabouts at POP those types of rooms would be located. Thanks!

In May we had a King room, our son and his wife were in a connecting room with 2 full size beds (there was a door between our rooms) and our daughter and her friend were in the next room, all in a row. We were in the 1600 building very near to the food court and pool. We loved the convenience, but due to the drenching rain there were a few times we had to take our shoes off and walk through a good foot of water between us and the food court. We just asked for a connecting and an adjoining room but we never asked for specifics. Also, these were preferred rooms. Hope you have a great time...we did!

Thanks for the prompt response. Our kids are considered adults now (18 and 20), and we figured that two rooms at a value would be about the cheapest way to go, with the most privacy. I'm sure we'll have a great time; thanks again!

There are probably rooms like this spaced all around the resort. We got a room arrangement like this last July in the 2000 building of the 50's section. In our case we needed two rooms with two beds each and they were able to move us with no problem.

There are set-ups like what you seek in every building, on every floor. But please keep in mind, you are not "getting" that configuration, you're requesting it. What you reserve and will be getting are two rooms. If Disney can give you connecting rooms, they will - but connecting rooms is not a bookable category.

I have a question kind of related to this so excuse me for hijacking your thread. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if you request connecting rooms and you have young children if you're guaranteed to get it? Or is it still just based on what's available?:confused3

Our trip will be me, DH and 4 kids (ages 7,5,2, and infant).

I only ask b/c I thought I saw a thread on here not to long ago that said if you have small children they will definitely give you connecting rooms.

Thanks for any info.

No, it's not guaranteed - even if the coding on your reservation paperwork seems to indicate otherwise.

Since there've even been (rare) reports of solo adults traveling with too many minor children for one room, not getting connecting rooms - two adults traveling with four (or one to six) children can split the adults between the two rooms.

We are getting 2 rooms at POP and requested connecting for our group of 2 adults and 5 children. I understood that "connecting" was a request. When the CM was going through the final details before we hung up, he said "guaranteed connecting rooms...".

I don't expect it to be guaranteed, but I'll be in face-to-face discussion with someone at the resort if we don't get it. I wonder if the adult:child ratio and the age of my children gets a stronger emphasis on our request.

Once a CM told me that the wording "guaranteed connecting rooms" on the reservation would just guarantee that the request is made. :confused3 Don't know if that was off the cuff or the actual policy!

Disney tries their best with requests, and I honestly think they should have the CMs stop telling people they have guaranteed connecting rooms, when their own web-site states that there is no such thing! Requests are just that, requests.

Most likely you will get connecting rooms, but there have been posts before from people who were told they had guaranteed connecting rooms, yet did not receive them. Disney will do what they can, but if there are honestly no connecting rooms left you may have no choice but to switch resorts, if you have to have them.

1) Just to put things straight.
2) THERE ARE NO GUARANTEED ROOMS AT DISNEY
. . . not for connecting
. . . not for adjoining
. . . not for view
. . . not for type (king, bunk etc)
. . . not for paid levels (club floor, suites, etc)
. . . not for a particular resort (they can give you another resort anytime)
3) They are ONLY requests, even if you paid for a category or view.

NOTE: I see people moved from their paid rooms to another room weekly. In fact, a whole group of people were once moved from GF Suites to lesser rooms. They yelled and screamed, but it didn't change anything.

I can tell you that: Room 3222 in building 3 is a KING DISABLED ROOM, and was connected to the room next door, which was 3221.;) There is a "map" of the layout of the rooms of sorts on another site, I believe WILLCAD.org try his site.;)
