Connecting or Adjoining Rooms

I know I've seen this discussed before, but what are the rooms called that open up between each other - connecting or adjoining?

Connecting rooms have a door between them, adjoining are just next to each other...no door.

I've also found that hotels consider rooms across the hall to be adjoining.
