CONGRATULATIONS to the Texas Rangers - on to the World Series!

woo-hoo! I'll be watching the Series, now that we know that the Giants will be the Rangers opponents!

Woohoo!!!!!! I cried when they made it to the ACLS and I cried when they made it to the World Series. This is huge for the Rangers and for TX baseball.

Go Rangers!!!!!!!!

Go Rangers!!!!!!!!

We rewatched the game Saturday and there were quite a few teary moments for me!! I am just so happy for my boys!!!

I was listening to some Yankee loving sports announcers this morning and they said that the Yankees just gave up Friday night in the last few innings. Of course...it can't be that the Rangers are awesome, it must be that the Yankees just gave up. :confused3 I'm pretty sure the Yankees don't give up games..they have an amazing line up of hitters! I'm sure they didn't just quit...that was the stupidest thing I ever heard. They were also talking about how the Ranger pitching is all Cliff Lee and were just shocked that the Rangers won the series. Uh...hello, Cliff pitched in only one game...he is not our whole team.

DH just told me to calm down and those announcers probably never watched one Ranger game all year and had no idea how good our pitchers were...but I was still mad...:rolleyes1

I personally don't think that the Yankees are the type of team to just give up. They might play poorly at times (who doesn't?) but they would keep on trying.

This attitude seems to be prevalent in the sports media. No one wants to admit that the better team won. Perhaps they should listen to Joe Girardi.....

"They outhit us, they outpitched us, outplayed us and they beat us ... You take away one inning and one game, and it was very one-sided. We just didn't get it done." – Joe Girardi

I'm sure the Yankees wouldn't give up in a do or die game! That's just crazy talk, but no one can just admit they got beat...fair and square!!

Meh, they didn't fight hard, but thanks. Congrats guys. Here's hoping you get your first ring!:cool1:

I'm pretty sure I admitted it. I think the Yankees didn't play like they could have and in doing so, they did get beat. It's ok, I'm still a fan.

You honestly think they didn't play as hard as they could have? :confused3 Is it easier to admit that they just gave up rather than admit they aren't the better team?

No, I don't, but it is my opinion and I am entitled to it. My kid plays soccer; do I think her team plays to their capacity every time? No. Sometimes they get beat b/c they make stupid decisions or aren't playing like they should. It happens.

Ok, that's fine. I agree that the Rangers don't always play up to their potential either, but I usually attribute it to stupid mistakes and them sucking it up, not just giving up and letting the other team win. Giving up and stupid mistakes aren't the same thing to me, but you're right, we all are entitled to our opinions and we all deal with our team losing in different ways.

Yep we admitted we got beat fair and square , they just didn't have it this year. You can't do it every year. The Rangers are a young , hungry team and I wish them the best of luck in the WS. Having Cliff Lee for game 1 is sweet!

Congrats to the Rangers!
Nothing against the Giants but I hope the Rangers win it all! :cool1:

Nolan and Ron Washington are on Mike and Mike on Espn this morning!! :thumbsup2

I can't get enough baseball!!!

Even though I'm a Mets fan (obviously), you guys should know that not every Yankee fan is like that person. At least the Yankee fans I know would admit that the Rangers outplayed the Yankees.

Anyway, congrats!

Here's a funny for you guys:

My son (13) has a social studies teacher who is a GREAT Yankees fan- he enjoys the banter with Red Sox fans (especially students) and Maine is BIG Red Sox country. Yesterday Mr. K asked one of the kids (another Yank fan) where his Yankees T-shirt was and the boy said, "It's dirty, my Mom is washing it." and my son said, "It doesn't matter how many times your Mom washes it- it's still gonna be dirty." :lmao:

That really stinks! I've had more Disney antenna toppers and magnets stolen from my car. I keep everything inside now.

What is the purpose of stealing $4-$5 items???
