confusing ticket purchasing

My husband and I will be bringing my 8 year old for a 5 night trip. We have been given six 2 day hopper passes. My plan is to assign each of us two cards (so 4 days each). We will need to purchase a single day pass for each of us. Its going to cost $300 just for the one day without a hopper. There is one day in the middle of the trip that we will not be hopping. Since we will each have 4 days of hoppers and one day of non hopper (I would buy the MK only pass) how do we do this? when you assign tickets to people on MDE you don't assign dates for each pass to be used. Does this make sense at all? Our very last day we will probably hop.

I've heard from somewhere (here?) that tickets are given a priority number in MDE. It tells the system which ticket to use first, then second, then third, etc. Guest services at the parks or resort can access this info and make sure your tickets are prioritized properly.

Maybe someone else will come along and verify if this is true. If not, you could try calling Disney IT for verification. From what I understand of systems programming (very high-level) this sounds logical.

The PP is correct. You can also un-link a ticket temporarily to make sure it isn't used.

But, it would probably be cheaper to add a day to one set of tickets than to purchase a third set. Then it wouldn't matter which one was used first as all tickets would be park hoppers.

Im confused by what you mean. We need a total of 12 hoppers and 3 nonhoppers. I have 6 2 day hopper passes but thats not exactly the same as 12 day hopper passes since I can't split the two day pass up. Originally (I wasn't thinking clearly) my plan was to give the 2 adults each 5 day hopper, give my son 2 day hoppers, then buy him a 3 day hopper. I quickly realized my 2 day passes can't be broken up.

Maybe someone else with more knowledge will tell me i'm wrong but if you use your 2 day hopper to enter the park then go to upgrade the ticket to add a day you would only pay an additional $86 + tax per adult ticket and $80.00 + tax per child ticket and the added day would also have hopper options.

If you by a regular one day pass non MK it would cost $94+ tax per adult and no hopper and a child tix would be $88 +tax without the hopper.

It would be best to add a day to existing ticket after you enter the park on day your first day

What kind of tickets are they? Are they just regular tickets? Do they have an expiration date or say "COMP" anywhere on them?

these were complimentary tickets so I dont think they can add a day

In that case, your original plan is probably your best bet.

2 day comp tickets are really unusual - I don't think I've ever actually heard of them. Do you happen to know how they were originally acquired?
