Confusing annual passort question.

Hi, I booked my trip a few days ago for 6 nights, I booked through a travel agent in Ireland and stupidly didn't know about annual passes and instead got the seven days park tickets included. the actual park tickets would have cost around 400 i think.

I obviously would have chosen and annual pass had i realised the price........:headache:

so my question is in regard to the upgrading of the tickets.
I thought I read somewhere that it is possible to exchange your day tickets for an annual pass when you get there.
Is this correct?

Also I think I would have enough to exchange for the fantasy passes for all 3 of us i think going by the charges on dlprmagic.com,

can the fantasy passorts be used straight away?
or on the 2nd and 3rd day, I'm really confused,

One more thing how much do hotels like the santa fe cost when you already have an annual pass and you are booking room only,

any help greatly appreciated

Hi, check with your travel agent / Disney, but it is very unlikely that tickets bought through a TA as part of a package have any face value and therefore can not be used towards the cost of an annual pass - I found this out the hard way after standing in a queue at the AP passport office for the best part of an hour, only to be told that only tickets bought at the park can be upgraded.

With regards to hotel only booking with an AP, well it depends on what deals are available with a package - I was told that the current 40% on the package is better than an AP + room only.

If your ticket was bought as part of a package it cant be exchanged for an annual pass. If you bought the tickets seperate it can but you need to do it on the first day to get the full value returned.

Fantasy passes can be used on the same day and day 2 and 3 but there are blackout days so you need to be sure these done apply

The hotel discounts are very poor now and things like the 40% off offers only apply to packages not room only

We have dream AP's. Park tickets bought as part of a package with hotel accomodation are marked 'forfait' and have no value against AP. Only day tickets bought at the park which therefore have a daily value can be offset against AP.

The 40% discount offered just now is better than the room only rates for AP holders at the moment. The special offers for AP holders change every 3 months and are notified in the Envie+ magazine. Early this year there was a period when AP holders were getting 50%off room rates so it does vary. At the moment I think its up to 30% for certain dates.

Its not quite right that its only tickets bought at the park that can be exchanged as we bought from UK disney store and exchanged those for annual passes but as previously said tickets bought as part of package cant be exchanged

the tickets wont have cost you 400 euros, they are included with the hotel and have zero value. so dont worry the ta hasnt jacked up the price by an extra 400 euros.

That's very helpful everyone, i was only basing the 400 euro estimation on the 5 day hopper prices, I actually got a brilliant deal with the travel agent so all is good,

thanks again
