Hi Guys,

Firstly, I'm so so sorry that I appear to always ask for help and can rarely offer advise to other disers!!

Anyway, our tickets arraived today :cool1:

We booked through VH and got free dining. Now on the voucher is says : Meal basis for all passengers is: Disney Dining Plan Platinum Package Prepaid

Now - is the "platinum" package the regular dining plan or the deluxe dining plan? I'm wondering if VH have made a mistake and given us the wrong dining plan - I can't find any reference to "platinum" on the disney website, but on the dreams unlimited it talks about "platinum" package which sounds like the deluxe.

I'm not going to get excited as if we have got the deluxe by mistake, i'm going to have the biggest dilemma as we didn't pay for it. However it might be that the "platinum" package is just the regular dining plan.

I could get very excited about the deluxe plan: 3 table service meals, all with starter, main and pudding (we could eat proper breakfasts at the hotel each morning !!!)

Thanks, Guys!!

The Magic Your Way Platinum Package offers everything in the premium package, then adds more such as: pre-arrival planning service, a specialty fireworks cruise, reserved seating at Fantasmic!, selected spa treatment per guest (age restrictions apply), additional dining options, such as the renowned Victoria & Albert's restaurant, room service, and more.

This is taken from allears.com and it sounds great !

Stranger things have happened. Someone went to Disney a few months ago and discovered when they used their KTTW for dining credits that the reciept had a few thousand credits on it. It turned out that the system had recorded their check out date for several months later. They couldn't undo it so they told the guests to have fun and try not to go over too much :lmao:

I read about that, they had put check out date for 2011 intead of 2010 so they got something like 1 year & 1 week of credits. I believe they owned up as they didn't want anything charging to their credit card but I don't remember the full story

Maybe I should just ask when I get there : seem all confused and say "oh, what do I get with this then???"

Oh - I hate not knowing.

I can't see it being the platinum package Wayne pointed too, as it does say

Meals basis is:
DISNEY DINING PLAN

then on the next line says:

PLATINUM PACKAGE PREPAID

I assumed the platimun package related to dining, but do you reckon it's what Wayne's link is....... OMG - that's all so awesome - it it possible i've paid for this and don't know it!!!!!

What do I do..............

let us know what you got when you find out! sounds exciting!

Can you log into your account as see what it says? Its a few years since I used Virgin Holidays so not sure if you can.

They can't charge you retrospectively if they have made an error. Dining plans need to be added a minimum of 72 hours prior to your arrival day and have to be paid in full prior to arrival.

Practically though, it is unlikely at such a late stage that you would be able to utilise most of the perks even if they had incorrectly added it as many of these things need to be booked in advance. For example the chances of getting a Wishes Cruise a couple of weeks out is bordering on zero. Still, it is a nice thought.

Just wondering whether VH has a package called a Platinum Package. I was unaware that the one posted in Wayne's link could actually be purchased in the UK. What did you book with your VH package?

Wayne,

I've just logged onto my original booking.

It does mention "platinum upgrade package" but this (I'm fairly sure) relates to the car hire.

However, on the voucher for the accomodation, it says platinum package prepaid. It doesn't mention this at all on the car voucher!!!

Oh well - not sure what to think. I don't want to ring Virgin and ask in case they have made a mistake and they take it off us!!!

Think I might wait and ask when we check-in!!

Are there any other disers that have their tickets that could look at their vouchers and compare........

I have never heard of Virgin selling the Platinum add on for Disney. I suspect its the Platinum car package possibly been entered wrong on your tickets, they do sell that.

Just a thought to bear in mind next time you ask a question. You may not have noticed but when a thread is started with a question, often other posters have more queries on the topic. This is informative in itself. So when you ask a question, you ARE helping others with advice. :goodvibes

It sounds like the platinum package prepaid is your hire car insurance.

I'd email Virgin and ask them to clarify.

Sorry it sounds like an error with the way it has been printed - it will be the car hire insurance.

You will just get the standard DDP i'm afraid :sad1:

Have a great trip :goodvibes
